We are now strengthening our construction damage group with a Construction Damage Adjuster. Here, your experience is at the center, and you will become a crucial resource for both your colleagues and our customers.

About the role

As a damage adjuster specializing in construction damages, you play a vital role in our operations. Through the market's best customer interaction, high availability, and expertise, you are responsible for ensuring that the customer's insured damage is settled in an engaged and simple manner.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Receiving damage reports, primarily via phone, and registering the damage.
• Meticulously documenting everything said and done in the case.
• Communicating with the customer regarding the handling process, clarifying what is expected of the customer and what the customer can expect from us.
• Requesting necessary information to settle the case.
• Reviewing inspection reports and calculations in the calculation review system MEPS.
• Making assessments, making decisions in the case, determining compensation, and closing the case in a structured and correct manner.

In handling the damages, you also maintain ongoing contact with our construction contractors who help the customer restore the damage. You review cost estimates, compare alternatives, and discuss possible solutions. The role also involves identifying the customer's future needs and forwarding this to our colleagues who handle the sales of our insurance products.

You have significant autonomy as you investigate and make decisions on compensation issues based on current insurance terms, practice, and legislation. In this role, you will work at our headquarters in Karlstad, primarily handling water, burglary, and machinery damages, as well as simpler fire damages.

Who are you?

• You have good building technical competence and understand how damages occur, how they are remediated, and what is required to quality-assure the work.
• You are seen by others as a communicative team player who gladly shares your knowledge with others.
• You have relevant experience from the construction industry or other experience deemed equivalent. Building technical knowledge is a requirement.
• Experience with the calculation tool MEPS is advantageous.
• Administrative experience is advantageous.
• Inspection experience is advantageous.

As a person, you are structured, efficient, and unpretentious. You are flexible and have no problem with the fact that the workday does not always look the same. You have the ability to guide the customer through their damage case in a positive and personal manner.

To be successful in the role, you need to work solution-oriented and have very good communication skills in both speech and writing. You are a good listener and understand the importance of well-functioning and ongoing communication with the customer. We work in a service-oriented manner, which leads to us achieving our goals with smooth and simple damage handling and high customer satisfaction.

About us

The work group consists of a total of seven employees who settle construction damages within private, commercial, and agricultural insurance. The group has different areas of responsibility, and the employees work closely together to do their best for our customers, who are also our owners.
