Description

We are now looking for an Employment Consultant for the Job Centre unit within the Employment and Social Administration, Division for Integration, Welfare and Work (IFA). The Job Centre is a unit that works with municipal labor market issues in Karlstad Municipality and supports individuals on their path to employment or education.

Responsibilities

As an Employment Consultant, your task is to motivate and coach individuals on their journey towards self-sufficiency, both individually and in groups. You also provide support in coordinating efforts with other collaborating partners. An important part of the role as an Employment Consultant at the Job Centre is working outward towards employers to secure internship and work training placements, and acting as a support on-site at workplaces for both the participant and the supervisor.

The target group has diverse cultural backgrounds and may be at different stages of distance from the labor market. The path towards work and studies can therefore vary in length and nature.

The approaches and methods we primarily use are Solution-Focused, BIP (Witnessed Individual Planning), and "Supported Employment".

Qualifications

A relevant higher education degree, such as in behavioral science, human resources, or social pedagogy, combined with work experience, is required. Experience with business contacts and the Supported Employment methodology is considered an advantage.

As a person, you are outgoing, proactive, a good listener, and easy to collaborate with. You are skilled at meeting individuals with different needs and from different cultures. You are solution-oriented, enjoy developing operations, and finding and testing new solutions in daily work. You must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing, and be comfortable making new contacts and working with individuals both in groups and individually. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

Experience is required.
