Your Role

Saab Training & Simulation is in an intense phase of development, where the business is further developing special and separate IT environments, so-called Special Purpose Environments (SPE). As part of this initiative, we are now looking for traveling IT technicians who want to help modernize our global IT infrastructure.

In this role, you will travel to our operations around the world to install, upgrade, and replace existing infrastructure. Our sites are located on several continents, which means a varied daily routine with the opportunity to work in different environments and cultures. The assignment includes both establishing new infrastructure and replacing older solutions, where you are responsible for carrying out the work on-site and documenting it carefully for future management and support.

When you are not traveling, you become part of the SPE management team, where you work together with Linux and Windows technicians to ensure stable and secure operation of our environments. The work includes both support and troubleshooting as well as handling incoming cases. With the help of documentation and established working methods, you contribute to solving technical problems, both remotely and in close collaboration with the business.

The role is broad and includes work with everything from networks, switches, fiber connections, and firewalls to client-side equipment such as printers and scanners. You will have the opportunity to work with many different technical areas and be an important part of ensuring that our international sites have a well-functioning IT infrastructure.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have an education in IT or equivalent experience and who have a genuine interest in technology and infrastructure. You can be at the beginning of your career or have a few years of experience as an IT technician, support technician, or within operations and infrastructure. The most important thing is that you have a broad technical understanding, a willingness to learn new things, and enjoy working practically close to the technology.

As a person, you are curious, self-reliant, and solution-oriented. You easily create trust with people and feel comfortable in meetings with different cultures and businesses. Since the role involves independent work at our international sites, you need to be confident in yourself, able to take your own initiatives, and handle situations that arise along the way.

We would like you to have basic knowledge of networks, hardware, and IT infrastructure as well as experience in troubleshooting and support. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in international environments, have completed military service, or have another background where you have developed the ability to work structured and solution-oriented under varying conditions.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the currently applicable regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
