Do you want to make a real difference? Here you contribute to creating security for people and societies. What you do matters.
Your Role
Demand is increasing and we are growing with it. We are now looking for a System Safety Engineer who wants to strengthen our team within Safety, Reliability & Maintainability.
Here you will have a role where you are involved from start to finish. You step in early in the development process, influence design decisions, and ensure that our systems are safe, robust, and ready for reality.
What you will do:
You work in multiple projects simultaneously and are a key person when it comes to identifying risks, ensuring safety, and reliability for avionics systems. Our products span several areas, such as computers, actuator systems, and fiber-optic sensor systems.
In practice, this means that you:
- Analyze system design to identify risks and assess reliability
- Develop reliability predictions and analyses based on calculated data and operational data
- Ensure fail-safe solutions by reviewing architecture and requirements
- Conduct and document analyses such as FMEA, Preliminary System Safety Assessment, and System Safety Assessment
Here you work closely with competent colleagues in a team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical interest are at the center.
Your Profile
You thrive in an environment where the pace is high and there are multiple projects. You are curious, solution-oriented, and enjoy collaborating – both within and outside your team. You take responsibility for your work, drive your tasks forward, and do not hesitate to take initiative when needed.
You also have strong analytical skills and can communicate complex technical problems clearly and pedagogically to different audiences.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- A degree in engineering (Civil Engineer or University College Engineer)
- Experience in systems engineering, for example requirements or architecture work within software, electronics, or mechanics
- Good proficiency in Swedish and English
It is an advantage if you also have:
Experience from the aviation and/or defense industry, as well as experience in conducting and documenting system safety analyses in a clear and structured manner. If you also have knowledge in fail-safe design, safety requirements, and reliability analysis, it is a plus, especially if you have an understanding of the physical principles that affect reliability. Experience working according to standards such as ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178, DO-254, or ISO-26262 is also considered an advantage.
The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
What you become a part of
Discover endless possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts.
