The Rescue Services in Norrtälje Municipality work to make the community safe and secure for all residents, even under difficult conditions. We maintain readiness around the clock at our five fire stations: Blidö, Norrtälje, Hallstavik, Rimbo, and Älmsta. Our assignment is complex and covers both preventive and damage-mitigating work. Preventive work includes providing information, advice, and instructions to the public, as well as educating students and employees. We are also responsible for fire safety supervision and the handling of flammable and explosive goods, conduct fire safety controls, and manage chimney sweeping. Damage-mitigating work involves rescue operations during fires, accidents, spills of environmentally hazardous substances, and other emergencies. We collaborate closely with 12 other rescue service organizations in the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region.

Your assignment

As a firefighter, you will be part of one of our four shift teams in Norrtälje's full-time force, with the team leader as your direct supervisor. The shift team consists of a relieving team leader and seven firefighters. You will be on call for deployment in damage-mitigating operations where we collaborate with many other actors.

A work shift consists, in addition to emergency responses, of daily routines, training, physical exercise, and other tasks within the rescue services where you contribute your expertise.

Your qualifications

Formal requirements:

• SMO, GRiB, or equivalent education
• Category C driving license
• Passed employment tests
