We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager for Contaminated Sites at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).

This is a consultancy assignment with a flexible location among Trafikverket's offices in Malmö, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Borlänge, Umeå, or Luleå.

The assignment corresponds to 60–70% of a full-time position.

The role involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As an Assistant Project Manager on the section for contaminated sites within the Maintenance Business Area, you will act as support to Trafikverket's project managers regarding targeted environmental measures for contaminated sites and participate in consultancy investigations. The consultant is expected to act as an extension of the project manager and contribute to planning, coordination, review, authority contacts, and management of results.

Responsibilities

• Project support and assistant project management for targeted environmental measures and consultancy investigations within contaminated sites.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead assigned assignments, including preparations, kick-off meetings, and contacts within Trafikverket.
• Represent Trafikverket in meetings and manage permissions for assignment consultants in Trafikverket's systems.
• Support environmental specialists with minute-taking, meeting administration, invoice handling, economic and delivery follow-up, scheduling, and decision support.
• Coordinate and maintain dialogue with consultants, internal functions, and other relevant parties to ensure efficient implementation.
• Conduct site visits and travel to investigation areas as needed.
• Review sampling plans, PRIOR assessments, investigation, and risk assessment reports according to current requirements and guidelines.
• Assist in reporting and dialogue with supervisory authorities regarding investigation results.
• Register, report, and file results, authority contacts, and other documentation in Trafikverket's systems.
• Prepare materials for tender documents and contribute to other administrative tasks related to contaminated sites.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• At least five (5) years of experience in the role of assignment leader, assistant assignment leader, or case handler within contaminated sites on the consultancy side, or as a project manager within contaminated sites on the client side. The work must have been focused on leading and driving assignments. Roles as environmental support or TA-environment are not accepted.
• Education in project/assignment management (internal training or external courses, minimum half-day).
• Education in ABK09 (internal training or external courses, minimum half-day).
• At least three years of higher education or university degree in natural sciences or technical education focused on environment/nature (180 ECTS).
• Category B driver's license.
• Experience leading, planning, and executing environmental technical investigations and simple risk assessments from at least 3 assignments/projects where you acted as the client's project manager or as assignment leader/assistant assignment leader/case handler. Environmental support/TA-environment roles are not accepted. Projects must have had a scope of at least 200,000 SEK, been conducted in accordance with industry practice (Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, SGI, etc.), include investigation of both soil and water, and have compared results against general reference values. Projects must be completed after January 1, 2021.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits

You have worked as a resource consultant or been employed for at least one year (minimum 50% scope) with a public client. The tasks should have included project management of investigations and/or measures at contaminated sites.
