Personal assistance is a service under the LSS Act (The Support and Service Act for Certain Functionally Disabled). As a personal assistant, you provide individual support and care to people who have been granted personal assistance because they need help with one or more basic needs. Every client is unique, and your tasks will vary according to the client's needs. You value the client's self-determination and integrity, and contribute to making daily life run smoothly.

About the role

The role of personal assistant places high demands on the ability to build good relationships. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is sensitive, engaged, and responsible. It is also important that you enjoy having an active job and like activities such as cycling and having varied tasks, as some hours are spent at school. The client, a teenage girl, lives in a house with her father, so it is also important that you can collaborate well and truly enjoy making a difference in someone's life. You need to be calm and secure as a person and be able to work with a low-affective approach. This is the first time we are recruiting for this client, which means we intend to create a completely new work group in a stable and long-term manner. We are now looking for you who match the following:

• Want to work with a teenage girl living in Strömsnäsbruk.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish.
• Have experience with autism and intellectual disability.
• Are non-smoking (during working hours).

It is also meritorious if you:

• Have experience in similar work.
• Have a B driving license and access to a car.
• Can speak Bulgarian, Serbian, or Russian.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Working hours, employment percentage, and salary:

The current form of employment is "for as long as the assistance assignment lasts" with an employment percentage of 75–80%. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends. A rough schedule looks like this: approx. 06:30–15:15 (single assistance at school) and approx. 15:15–22:30 (double assistance at home). You work every other weekend.

Being employed at Humana

A prerequisite for starting an employment with us at Humana is that you, as an applicant, can present a valid ID document and any documents proving the right to work in Sweden. To work as a personal assistant, you must be at least 18 years old.

According to legislation, we as employers are required to request a police record extract from all employees who are to work as personal assistants for a child under 18 years of age. Therefore, you need to present an extract from the police's criminal record and suspicion register prior to any potential employment. Further information will be provided if you proceed in the recruitment process.
