Your Responsibilities

As a Production Engineer, you will work closely with operators and manufacturing managers within a part of the production flow. You will be part of a group of Production Engineers where you support and help each other. The role includes having product knowledge, understanding the manufacturing flow, analyzing deviations, and identifying improvements so that we contribute to delivering quality from the first prototype.

Organizationally, you will belong to our Manufacturing Unit in Halmstad, which we are currently building up and expanding with more Production Engineers. As part of the engineering team, you are responsible for product- and manufacturing-related issues within the manufacturing area you support. In addition to your production engineering responsibilities, you are expected to work together with colleagues and manufacturing instances in the journey to create a production based on Agile and Lean principles.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Proactively maintain and optimize manufacturing flow and processes.
• Support the analysis of metrics and propose actions.
• Ensure that new steps and new techniques can be handled by operators.
• Handle failures related to the manufacturing process.
• Perform project tasks such as creating and maintaining preparations, routings, instructions, handling deviations, and other project assignments.
• Provide some support and assistance to our operators.
• Participate in operational meetings and check-ins, and handle activities initiated from these.

Your Profile

We are looking for you with:

• Relevant university education – BSc or MSc, preferably in e.g., Production Engineering.
• At least a few years of experience as a Production Engineer.
• Experience with, and energy from, collaborating at the interface between design and production.
• Experience working in a process-driven manner and seeing opportunities to challenge and improve these processes.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify actions and activities.
• Good ability to understand and express yourself in both English and Swedish.

Our business system is IFS, and previous experience working in this system is meritorious.

Good communication skills are a prerequisite in daily work as personal meetings are a central part of the role. You are curious, positive, and can plan your work based on the needs of the business. At the same time, you are accustomed to leading yourself to achieve a healthy and sustainable workload, and you also support others with this when needed. You are attracted by challenges and problem-solving, and together with your team, you strive for continuous improvement, reduced costs, and on-time deliveries.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
