Helios Innovations is a growth company that produces modular treatment plants for industrial process water. We are in an expansion phase and are now looking for another Automation Engineer who wants to help further develop our automation solutions and products.

About the role

As an Automation Engineer at Helios Innovations, you develop control and automation solutions that make our plants efficient and reliable. You work closely with colleagues in product, project, and operations, playing a central role in turning new ideas and needs into robust automation solutions.

You will join us at an exciting stage where our products are being further developed for increased standardization, scalability, and efficiency. You will become part of our ongoing product development journey, where new ideas, features, and improvements are continuously turned into finished solutions.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in automation and programming, who thrives on turning ideas into robust and reliable solutions. You have the ability to understand technical processes and see the value in developing solutions that are easy to maintain, further develop, and use over time.

Why Helios? Helios is a product company with high ambitions and strong growth. We develop our own solutions, which means you will work long-term on improving and developing the product rather than delivering individual customer projects.

At Helios, the path from idea to finished function is short. Since we develop and own our own products and solutions, we can prioritize which features and improvements create the greatest value for our customers. Today, we have around 20 employees and plan to continue growing significantly in the coming years. You will become part of an engaged team where decision-making paths are short and where new ideas can quickly be turned into reality, making a difference for both the product and our customers.

At Helios, we develop technology that makes a real difference. By helping industry recycle resources, reduce waste, and lower emissions, our solutions contribute to a more sustainable and circular industry, while also creating clear economic value for our customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Program, develop, and maintain PLC and HMI solutions in Siemens TIA Portal and Beckhoff TwinCAT.
  • Develop new functionality and turn product ideas into robust, tested, and verified automation solutions.
  • Configure and integrate field equipment, sensors, and IO-Link devices into our control systems.
  • Participate in testing, verification, and commissioning of new features and plants.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in product, project, and operations to develop and improve our solutions.
  • Contribute to the standardization and further development of our automation platforms and document technical solutions in a structured manner.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining automation solutions with a focus on quality, structure, and long-term management.
  • A few years of experience in PLC programming and the development of automation solutions within industrial operations.
  • Good knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT, or equivalent automation platforms.
  • Ability to understand technical processes and turn requirements and ideas into robust and reliable solutions.
  • Good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B) and ability to travel for work when needed.

Merits

  • Experience in water treatment, process industry, or other operations involving the control of technical processes.
  • Experience in standardization and further development of product-based automation solutions.
  • Experience in control and regulation technology.
  • Experience with both Siemens TIA Portal and Beckhoff TwinCAT.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols and integration of field equipment, such as IO-Link, EtherCAT, or Profinet.

Your profile We believe you:

  • Enjoy taking responsibility and driving your work forward independently.
  • Have a genuine interest in automation and programming, and are motivated by developing robust solutions that are used and improved over time.
  • See the value in quality, structure, and longevity when developing technical solutions.
  • Thrive in a developing business where you have the opportunity to influence and improve both products and working methods.

This is a full-time position based in Halmstad with the possibility of some hybrid work. We conduct ongoing recruitment, so please submit your application as soon as possible.

If you have questions about the position, please contact Elvin Berndtsson by phone at 076-322 44 40.

We look forward to hearing from you!
