MDU Holding AB is looking for a Business Developer who wants to work closely with knowledge-intensive startups and scale-ups where the capital journey is crucial for continued development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence the companies' path towards investability, capital raising, and long-term growth.

About the Role

You will become a key figure in building a new, cutting-edge, and selective incubator function for knowledge-intensive companies in Västmanland and Sörmland. The focus is on companies with high potential. The capital journey is the driving logic – your task is to actively contribute to developing the companies and taking them further towards investability, investor dialogue, and investment.

The role is characterized by a high degree of independence and a clear mandate to prioritize resources and efforts where they create the greatest impact on the companies' development and value creation. You will work strategically and closely with the companies, focusing on actual development and measurable results. The focus is on creating conditions for the companies' growth rather than performing operational tasks in each individual company yourself.

The position is part of a joint project between several collaborating partners, where MDU Holding AB is responsible for implementing the incubator function. You are employed by MDU Holding AB, work in close collaboration with the project owner Almi Östra Mellansverige AB, and report to the CEO of MDU Holding AB.

Your Assignment

As a Business Developer, you are responsible for developing and implementing the incubator function's operations. Among other things, you will:

• lead and ensure quality in business development efforts for knowledge-intensive or research-related startups and scale-ups
• support companies in their journey towards investability through business development, market validation, and capital preparation
• work closely with companies in investor dialogues and capital raising processes
• develop and further develop the incubator's working methods and offering for companies with high growth potential
• ensure that the right competence and resources are linked to the companies based on their development phase and needs
• collaborate with project owners and regional actors in Västmanland and Sörmland
• communicate the incubator function's offering in relevant networks and contexts
• be responsible for documentation, follow-up, and reporting within the project

We are looking for you who

• have experience working with the development of knowledge-intensive, innovation-driven, or research-related startups and scale-ups
• have good experience with investor dialogues, capital raising, or working with investment readiness
• have a good understanding of how companies develop from idea to market and capital
• enjoy working independently and building structures, working methods, and operations from scratch
• have documented experience leading projects or operations in collaboration between several actors

Experiences that strengthen your profile

We would appreciate it if you also have experience from environments where innovation, investments, and growth are in focus, such as incubators, accelerators, venture capital activities, or research-related innovation environments. Experience from the energy, industrial, or technology sectors is also valuable.
