Västra Husby is a school where we work together so that we and our students can thrive and develop. We have grown in recent years, and three years ago the expanded school was completed. The new school section contains new, fine craft workshops and a new, fresh home economics classroom.

At Västra Husby School, we have approximately 35 employees and in the fall, approximately 217 students. The school consists of three work teams: grades F-3, 4-6, and the after-school center. You will have close collaboration with the other craft teacher and belong to the work team for grades 4-6. Östra Ryds School has approximately 100 students and a smaller craft workshop for about 12 students. In Söderköping Municipality, we have craft education starting from grade 2 and home economics from grade 6.

Job Description

The position is shared between two schools. You will spend the majority of your time at Västra Husby School, but teaching also takes place at Östra Ryds School (approx. 10 minutes from Västra Husby School) 1.5 days a week. Teaching in home and consumer studies, equivalent to 20-30% of the position, takes place in the new classroom at Västra Husby School.

You are one of two teachers responsible for craft education for students at Västra Husby School and Östra Ryds School. Teaching in home and consumer studies for grade 6 students, which is also included in the position, can be discussed away if you are only interested in the craft portion.

Qualifications

We are looking for a trained textile craft teacher with qualifications or knowledge to also conduct teaching in home and consumer studies. You are well acquainted with the school's steering documents and plan, implement, and evaluate your work to create the best possible conditions for each student's learning and development. As a person, you easily create trusting relationships with both students, colleagues, and guardians, while also having clear leadership skills. You see collaboration with the craft colleague and other colleagues as a matter of course.
