to apply for the job
Do you want to use your technical skills to make a real difference in a socially vital operation? We are now looking for a System Developer who wants to work close to the business operations and help develop smart solutions for the electricity grid of the future. Here, you will combine technology, collaboration, and business development, regardless of whether you are at the beginning of your career or have several years of experience.
About the job
As a System Developer here, you will become an important bridge between the business's needs and technical solutions. You will work closely with users and develop functionality that creates concrete benefits for both customers and employees.
Among other things, you will:
- develop and further develop functionality in our systems, especially related to databases and business support
- produce data, analyses, and reports together with various parts of the organization
- build simpler automations and streamline working methods
- work with system configuration and integrations
- participate as a technical resource in projects and development initiatives
The work takes place in close collaboration with both the business operations and other technology teams. Our focus is on understanding needs, creating value, and finding solutions that work in practice – not just technically.
We are embarking on an exciting digital journey where you will have the opportunity to influence both your own role and how we work on developing the electricity grid of the future.
Who are you?
You have an education in IT/systems science or equivalent experience. You have basic knowledge of programming, databases (e.g., SQL), or system integration, and you enjoy working close to the business and understanding needs.
We believe you are communicative, enjoy collaborating with others, and contribute by being solution-oriented and taking personal responsibility for driving things forward. You express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
We believe you are curious about both technology and business, and thrive in a role where you get to combine these.
You can be a recent graduate with the right drive and interest – or have a few or several years of experience. The most important thing is not that you know everything from the start, but that you want to understand, develop, and contribute.
It is meritorious if you have experience with cloud solutions (e.g., Azure), automation, or work in business-oriented IT environments.
The position requires a B-class driver's license and Swedish citizenship (requirement for security clearance).
Our offer
Here, you will help drive the development towards a more sustainable society, in an industry that is a prerequisite for our welfare. We work together in secure teams where we dare to try new things, grow, and succeed. Here you will meet engaged people, a sustainable workplace, and the opportunity to combine a career with an active life.
At Jämtkraft, you are important. We think long-term, we invest in you, and we want you to thrive and help us move forward. Therefore, you don't need to know everything when you start. We will provide you with the competence you lack. Just come as you are, because this is where you want to be!
More benefits with Jämtkraft:
- Jämtkraft is large enough for you to develop and advance your career, but small enough for you to be seen, be important, and have an impact.
- We take care of our employees and offer great benefits, ranging from favorable bicycle schemes to reduced working hours and parental leave supplements.
- We are a recognized good employer, awarded the certificate "Excellent Employer 2025" and "Career Company 2026".
- A guiding star for Jämtkraft is to act sustainably and long-term – this applies to how we take care of our employees, our environment, and our business.
Jämtkraft operates in a socially vital sector. The employment may therefore imply that you as an applicant need to be placed in a security class.
Location: Östersund
