We are looking for a Support Pedagogue for our service housing in Kortedala!

Do you want a job where you truly make a difference every day? Then you might be our next support pedagogue!

In our service housing in Kortedala, 12 tenants live in their own apartments. Here, we work to create security, independence, and quality of life – with the individual at the center and the heart in the right place.

About the role

As a support pedagogue, you have a key role with overall responsibility for the pedagogical work. You design, develop, and follow up on methods and interventions based on each individual's needs, goals, and conditions, ensuring quality and equality in the methods.

The operation is a service housing under the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) for adults aged 30–65 who are largely self-sufficient. The work is characterized primarily by motivational and support measures, with some nursing care when needed.

Together with the work group:

  • You establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and implementation plans.
  • You ensure that job descriptions and work distribution are up to date.
  • You develop and quality-assure social documentation according to current laws and guidelines.

You are a support and guide for your colleagues, a close sounding board for the unit manager, and work with methods such as MI (Motivational Interviewing), LAB (Low-Affect Approach), ESL (An Independent Life), and Clarifying Pedagogy.

You collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other important actors, and you are part of the district's pedagogical network for experience sharing and joint development.

You work closely with the tenants and provide individually adapted support in everyday life. With a coaching and motivating approach, you create, together with your colleagues, conditions for structure, participation, and self-determination based on each person's abilities.

Working hours are currently during the day, but evening and weekend work may occur.

Together, we do meaningful work that makes a real difference in people's lives. Independence and participation for our tenants permeate the entire operation.

Qualifications

For the position of support pedagogue, post-secondary specialization within the field of disability is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits combined with two years of work experience with persons with disabilities. The education must have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. You who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit.

You have previous experience working as a support pedagogue. You also have documented experience working with persons with mental disabilities, as well as good knowledge of and experience with low-affect approaches.

It is meritorious if you have experience with the methods MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (An Independent Life), and clarifying pedagogy. Experience in leading and supervising colleagues is also seen as an advantage.

As a person, you have good pedagogical skills and an understanding that people absorb knowledge in different ways, and you adapt your communication to the recipient. You express yourself clearly in both speech and writing and ensure that your message gets through. You are change-oriented, see opportunities for development, and motivate others by driving new ideas and methods in a constructive and pedagogical way. You are pleasant, helpful, and respectful in your approach, even in stressful situations.

Do you recognize yourself? Then we hope you want to become part of our team!
