Magelungen Utveckling is an employee-owned company offering specialized treatment and change work for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Magelungen provides treatment as well as resource schools at the primary and upper secondary levels. The goal is to create a context in our operations that is manageable, meaningful, and understandable. Research and evaluation are integrated parts of all our activities.

About the Role

Do you want to make a difference for young people involved in crime and their families?

Magelungen is now looking for a Treatment Leader for Ung Trygg (Safe Youth) – an intensive and multimodal intervention for children, young people, and families. The goal is to identify risk and protective factors, understand the function of criminal behavior, and work to find alternative, positive behaviors and opportunities, thereby reducing young people's involvement in serious crime.

The intervention is provided to the young person and their family, in the home environment or on other safe grounds, during the day, evenings, and weekends as needed. Ung Trygg targets young people who have already committed offenses or are suspected of being at risk of further criminality. The intervention is provided through assistance decisions from the social services.

As a Treatment Leader in Ung Trygg, you play a central role in holding together the treatment process around the young person and their family. You lead and coordinate the team's work and ensure that the intervention is carried out in a structured, coordinated, and treatment-focused manner.

You are part of a treatment team together with youth therapists and family therapists. The work is based on the needs of the young person and the family and can take place during the day, evenings, and weekends.

In this role, you are responsible for keeping the different parts of the intervention together in a systematic way. This means ensuring a balance between relational work, structure, and safety, with the goal of creating change, increased security, and reduced risk of continued criminality.

You have an important coordinating function in contact with social services, authorities, and other collaborating actors. You lead and follow up on the treatment work, contribute to continuity and quality, and ensure that the team works towards set goals.

A central part of the assignment is to conduct and follow up on safety assessments. This involves identifying risks of violence, threats, reoffending, or other risky behaviors and ensuring that these risks are handled promptly, structured, and thoughtfully. The assessments form the basis for how the intervention is planned and how the treatment can be carried out.

The assignment may also include support and supervision for the treatment family.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or another equivalent higher education degree.

You have previous experience of treatment work and change work with young people involved in crime. You have a good understanding of the complexity of working with young people, families, networks, and authorities, and you are confident in coordinating interventions where multiple actors are involved.

You should have knowledge and experience of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), a systemic approach, and familiarity with criminological theories. It is an advantage if you have experience working with young people and families within authority operations or outpatient programs for children and young people with behavioral problems.

Previous experience of leading and handling complex cases is a prerequisite for the assignment.

Experience in leading teams, coordinating treatment processes, or working with safety assessments is an advantage.

Personal suitability is highly valued. The role of Treatment Leader requires you to be a secure and stable person, with a good ability to see the big picture in complex and changing processes. You are flexible, energetic, and have excellent relationship-building skills.

You have good cultural competence, empathetic ability, and personal maturity. You can work closely with families and young people in vulnerable situations while maintaining professional direction, clarity, and treatment focus.

It is crucial that you share Magelungen's systemic and salutogenic approach, focusing on respectful treatment and strengthening the competence and resources of those we meet.

It is an advantage if you have experience in parental support work or family therapy.

Our Offer

Magelungen is a non-profit and employee-owned operation, which characterizes our commitment, our long-term perspective, and the way we work.

We offer a meaningful workplace where your work makes a concrete difference for children, young people, and families. You will receive close leadership, continuous supervision, and a collegium characterized by collaboration, development, and great commitment.

You will also receive structured competence development, including training in the manual-based treatment methods used in the operation. There are good opportunities to contribute to operational development and method development within treatment and resource schools.

As an employee at Magelungen, you work from a systemic and salutogenic perspective, focusing on the whole and on strengthening what works. The goal is to create conditions for children and young people, together with their families, to succeed based on their individual needs and conditions.
