Temporary Assistant Position – Sundbyberg

Hello! My name is Caroline (Carro), I am 45 years old, and I live in Sundbyberg with my Siberian cats, Emmie and Liam.

I have a congenital physical disability that requires me to have personal assistance around the clock. I have had assistance for over 20 years, which means I am confident in how I want my support organized and experienced in managing my assistants. I have a small, stable team of assistants, many of whom have worked with me for a long time. As a substitute, you will become a valuable member of this group.

About the Position

I am currently looking for temporary substitutes who can work varying hours. Since I have 24/7 assistance, we are looking for substitutes for day, evening, and night shifts. I have an on-call sleep shift between 03:00–07:00, but this still involves a significant amount of awake time during the night, as I use a ventilator to breathe while sleeping.

The position is on an as-needed basis, and working hours vary from month to month. Therefore, it is a great advantage if you have a flexible lifestyle and can combine this with a regular job or studies.

About You

I am looking for a woman between the ages of 20 and 60. Age is not the most important factor; what matters most is our personal chemistry and how we interact. You must be at least 18 years old.

You are calm, self-assured, and comfortable in various environments. You are a non-smoker and have good physical mobility, allowing you to move freely, bend down, squat, etc. You are not allergic to or afraid of cats, as I spend a lot of time at home with my cats, Emmie and Liam. Helping with the cats, including lifting or carrying them when necessary, is part of the job.

You enjoy working independently and are comfortable being available in the background. During times when I do not need active help, it is perfectly fine to read, study, paint, or engage in other meaningful activities, as long as you are ready to assist me when I call for you.

Duties and Requirements

Being my assistant means you are my extended arms and legs. I take full responsibility for my life and what it entails, and I will guide you on how best to help me. You do not need to worry about the bigger picture, just perform the tasks we agree upon.

Practical Assistance Needs:

  • Mobility transfers (all are done with a ceiling lift, which is not heavy or strenuous).
  • Dressing and undressing.
  • Showering, toilet visits, and intimate hygiene.
  • Hand-over-hand assistance, cooking, and household management.

Health Technical Considerations:

I am partially tube-fed via a gastrostomy and have a suprapubic catheter. Therefore, strict hand hygiene is of utmost importance. Please note that if you use nail extensions, they will likely break.

Language and Communication:

Communication between us is crucial. You need to have a good understanding of Swedish to ensure safe and high-quality assistance. Being solution-oriented and having a good sense of humor are significant assets.

Experience

You do not need previous experience in this job or with assistive devices. The most important qualities are that you are attentive, able to follow instructions, and willing to learn.
