Region Östergötland operates three schools, which are grouped under the Regional Development Board. Vreta Education Centre is located just outside Linköping, Himmelstalund Education Centre is situated in Norrköping, and Lunnevad Folk High School lies between Vikingstad and Mantorp.

Himmelstalund Education Centre offers the Nature Management Programme with specializations in Gardening and Animal Care. Additionally, the adapted upper secondary school's national program Forest, Land and Animals, as well as the Individual Program, are offered. Vocational adult education and vocational higher education are available within the field of gardening.

Job Description

The duties consist of teaching upper secondary students and adult learners in the courses and subjects included in the gardening specialization, both practical and theoretical moments. The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, so good cooperation and initiative skills are important qualities, as is the ability to work independently.

Work Group

In the role as a vocational teacher, you are part of a unit consisting of approximately 15 employees.

About You

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. For the position, we are looking for you who have education and professional experience within the gardening industry. It is desirable that you have higher education in the area, such as SLU or YH education in gardening, as well as a teaching degree and certification in your subjects. Meritorious is several years of practical experience in the gardening profession. You should have knowledge and experience to teach in some of the following subjects:

Maintenance of outdoor environments (including pruning), Plant Knowledge, Garden Design, Machinery Knowledge, Horticulture.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have self-awareness, which among other things means distinguishing between private and professional life, as well as being able to see relationships in their correct perspective. You collaborate well with other people but also have the ability to work independently. A flexible approach is of utmost importance as the work often needs to be adapted to the current situation.

We see that you have experience in teaching vocational subjects and working with young people, as well as a good ability to arouse interest in your subjects, and you work actively to ensure that every student develops as far as possible based on their prerequisites.

You have very good communicative skills in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can adapt your message to the target group's prerequisites. Digital competence is a given for you as the position includes administrative tasks such as using a digital learning platform.

We want you to be a meticulous person who has good planning and organizational skills. You take personal responsibility and initiative, have a professional attitude towards both colleagues and students.
