About the workplace
The welfare of the future is our major challenge. To meet this challenge, the Employment Administration has a very important mission: We must enable residents receiving financial assistance to become self-sufficient as quickly as possible, while also helping employers find the right competence.
We meet this challenge with a wide range of adult education programs and labor market initiatives – and we are trying new ways of working together with the business community, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare, test new approaches, and find smart solutions.
We are approximately 400 colleagues at the administration, and our role is to provide residents with the right tools so they can take responsibility for their own development and livelihood.
The Competence Arena section was formed in October 2025. In this section, we work with residents who need work training or work capacity assessments to identify their potential in employment or studies.

Job Description
Exciting development work is underway at the Employment Administration. As an occupational therapist in work training, you will work with residents who need work training and/or work capacity assessments. Your colleagues work together with the residents in practical tasks, developing their competence both in general knowledge of the labor market and in specific vocational skills.
You will also be part of a team with other professional competencies within the section. Together, you will highlight the residents' strengths and areas for development so they can find pathways into the labor market. A key to succeeding in our mission is believing in the residents' drive and abilities.
As an occupational therapist, you assess work capacity based on the individual's overall situation and increase the resident's insight into their working conditions. You conduct mappings, observations, health talks, activity and function assessments, and document the process. You also work on identifying assistive devices that enable the resident to move forward in work or studies.
Your duties include:
- clarifying work opportunities and the need for adjustments
- identifying assistive devices that help the resident towards work and studies
- working with standardized occupational therapy instruments such as AWC, AWP, AWP-FK, WEIS, WRI, Model of Human Occupation, and others
- enjoying working outdoors and in a changing environment
- collaborating with healthcare, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, financial assistance units, adult education, etc.
- developing activities related to assessing work capacity
- developing joint working methods to increase residents' work capacity and/or map their work capacity
- providing targeted interventions related to your professional competence in other parts of our operations
Since we work across unit and section boundaries to achieve our goals, this means you may need to perform your work in other parts of our organization during certain periods.
Qualifications

- Ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
- Experience using digital systems
- Driver's license for a passenger car with manual transmission and willingness to drive
Meritorious
- Experience conducting work capacity assessments
- Experience working with individuals further from the labor market, such as those receiving financial assistance
