It is difficult for me to summarize the role of my personal assistant and everything it entails. This is because the personal assistance service is personal and based on individual conditions and needs. At the same time, my life is as diverse as yours when it comes to feelings, interests, and activities. To give you some clues, my interests vary depending on the season. I enjoy everything from swimming in my pool, cooking, and running with my Marathon wheelchair to visiting museums, concerts, and the gym, just to name a few. As mentioned, it is hard to summarize, but here is an explanation of who I am looking for…

A role as a personal assistant is varied, but with me, you can think of your role broadly starting with these three parts:

1. You help me with all basic needs with a strong sense of integrity and respect.

2. You are my physical support, which means it is an advantage for you if you take care of your own health and enjoy exercising in your free time.

3. You are my motor in everyday life and, together with me and your colleagues, are responsible for planning activities and following routines.

These three parts of your professional role should be characterized by you being kind, empathetic, and communicative because that is how the collaboration works best. I am approx. 25 years old, my team is young, everyone is approx. 20–30 years old.

I want to live as active and social a life as possible. Even though I cannot run on my legs, I roll along in the races I participate in. It is important that you are active and share my interests. I want to have as active a life as possible given my life situation! My life can be described as a rollercoaster – some days I have a lot of energy, other days I am in great need of rest and recreation. My epilepsy is complex, and you will learn everything you need to know during the introduction. It is not a requirement, but it is meritorious if you have experience with the personal assistance service. However, you need to have a good understanding of what your professional role entails.

Flexibility is important to be able to adapt the days based on current needs. My assistants always come rested, patient, and open to themselves regardless of what conditions or obstacles I encounter in daily life. I am looking for you who think the same way and do not view me as your patient. I require high work ethic, which for you as an applicant means that you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also calm and understand that your service is life-critical for me. The understanding for relationship-building and variation in my existence creates the best conditions for us both. Personal assistance means living a meaningful life with self-determination, which you contribute to through interaction.

The professional role of personal assistant means helping another human being live their life. This includes, among other things, being able to leave your own feelings and opinions outside of work, being interested in learning new ways of communicating, and simultaneously having an understanding that I, just like you, have an emotional register that varies. I want you to be equally engaged regardless of what I want to do or need. Please share your interests and join in my positivity and joy!

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Developing a relationship does not happen overnight, so I am looking for you who really want to do the best for me by getting to know me and understand that long-term commitment is the key to success. Previous experience is not a requirement, although it is certainly meritorious. Regardless, it is the understanding of the professional role that weighs heaviest. Being able to work in a structured and organized manner is essential to create security and predictability for me. Furthermore, I value you who are initiative-taking and can work creatively and motivatingly together with me.

Below follows some practical conditions for the position:

· Start date by agreement in June!

You start with an intro-schedule before being offered your own schedule. I am granted assistance around the clock. You never work 24-hour shifts, but it is important to know that you are awake during the night. You have a good understanding and insight into what it means to turn the day and night around and be able to sleep during the day, to come fresh and rested to me regardless of working hours. If you do not have previous experience with night jobs, you are of course also welcome to apply, just remember that a night job does not mean your day gets 24 hours.

· Work shifts with me can be full days 08.00–20.00, morning 5–7 hours, and afternoon 5–6 hours. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20.00–08.00. Some changes in times occur during the summer period 1/6–31/8.

After the summer, the degree of employment may change.

· The introduction always starts with day shifts with me. In this way, we get to know each other properly, and you learn as much as possible about my life. It is also nice and important that you get to know my other friends (assistants) so that everyone can collaborate.

· Any preferences I would like you to specify in your application, e.g., preferences for holiday leave during the summer – we have a summer schedule from June 1 to August 31. During this period, the schedule may be slightly different.

· Unfortunately, I cannot employ fur animal allergy sufferers or tobacco users (including substitutes like white snus and e-cigarettes).

· Fluency in Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement, as well as swimming ability.

Do you feel you fit the expectations? Then I believe you have a good chance of becoming a friend in my team, as long as you are 18 years of age. In your application, I would like the following to be included:
