Opaltorget is a residence with special support services focusing on mental and neuropsychiatric disabilities. We are looking for two support assistants for our residence. We offer the opportunity to develop and shape the operations together with us. Currently, eight support assistants, a method supervisor, and a unit manager work at Opaltorget. About the job

As a support assistant, you place the individual's needs, abilities, and interests at the center, supporting the user in daily life and in their right to self-determination. You work norm-creatively and innovatively, motivated to promote the development of the user's own resources. Together with the users, you work to provide the best possible conditions for an independent life with high quality of life. You work based on individually created implementation plans.

We utilize methods such as Independent Living (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Low-Affective Handling (LAB), and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The role includes social documentation and collaboration with both internal and external parties who are key figures in the user's life. We aim to create teams where employees' strengths are utilized effectively, contributing to a work environment with an open atmosphere and solution-focused discussions.

The work schedule will include days, evenings, and three out of six weekends. We use Multiaccess for scheduling and work with collaboration hours.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant program, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four terms of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience in providing support and services to people with disabilities. The education should have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

You have previous experience working as a support assistant, as well as experience in psychiatry and neuropsychiatry. It is necessary that you have experience and knowledge of ESL, MI, AAC, and low-affective handling, and are accustomed to working creatively. If you have a driver's license, we see this as a positive factor as we have access to a car for our activities.

You need to be able to use our IT systems and keep documentation. Therefore, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which implies a requirement of passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider Educateit.
