Welcome to the Skarpäng Principal Area
Skarpängsskolan is part of the Skarpäng Principal Area in Täby Municipality. The principal area consists of two schools: Rösjöskolan (Years F-6 and after-school center) with approximately 500 students, and Skarpängsskolan (Years 7-9) with approximately 500 students. Under the leadership of the principal, the schools work closely together with a shared vision regarding learning and development.
About the position/your assignment
In the role of Special Needs Teacher, you work with targeted pedagogical interventions for students in Years 7-9 who need additional support in mathematics. You are part of the school's student health team, which meets once a week, and a special needs teacher team consisting of a special needs teacher specializing in language and literacy development, and a special needs educator. Together with teachers, students, and guardians, you create the best conditions for student learning through support measures, adaptations, and good relationships.
As a Special Needs Teacher, you work actively with teaching and support students through individualized measures in the classroom, in small groups, and individually. At the same time, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching based on the curriculum and the Education Act.
With security and commitment, you mentor and support colleagues and work teams, contributing special pedagogical competence regarding adaptations, teaching strategies, and learning environments related to mathematics development. You stay updated on current research in special pedagogy and share your theoretical knowledge and pedagogical competence. You observe, document, follow up, write action plans, and prepare intervention programs and pedagogical investigations regarding students' need for additional support. Furthermore, you conduct and analyze screenings and other assessments related to students' mathematical development.
The work takes place in close collaboration with the school's other special needs teachers and special needs educators, teachers, school management, and the student health team. Together, you work across professions with remedial, promoting, and preventive measures based on students' needs. You lead meetings with students and guardians to inform about and discuss selected interventions, and collaborate with other actors, both within and outside the school, regarding students' needs.

Your ability to build relationships creates security, trust, and a good foundation for joyful learning. You are a secure and independent Special Needs Teacher who, with the support of your profession and special pedagogical competence, dares to act and make decisions. With a good holistic view, you consider the broader perspective in actions and decisions, always with the best interests of the students and the organization in focus. You work based on set goals and support students in achieving them, while also having the ability to set, analyze, and evaluate goals.

Your experience
- Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in Years 7-9.
- Special Needs Teacher degree with specialization in mathematics development.
- Experience working as a teacher in lower secondary school.
- Experience working as a Special Needs Teacher in mathematics.
- Knowledge and experience in assessing needs and documenting support measures, such as pedagogical investigations and intervention programs.
- Good digital competence with experience working with digital pedagogical tools.
- Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group instruction in mathematics in and outside the classroom.
- Conduct assessments, evaluations, and analyze students' needs.
- Co-plan and collaborate regularly with mathematics teachers to create a coherent thread between classroom teaching and the support measures you provide.
- Work with adaptations and pedagogical strategies that help students achieve knowledge goals.
- Follow up and document student development and contribute to the student health team's work when necessary.
Duration
The position is a permanent employment.
