Description

Our vision is for Gothenburg to be an internationally leading city of education and knowledge. The Education Administration in Gothenburg operates municipal upper secondary schools, adult education, vocational colleges, adapted upper secondary schools, and study and career guidance.

In our work, we have a clear focus on the student, placing knowledge and skills in a context where intrinsic motivation, co-creation, and the desire to learn are key ingredients. We work based on the equal value and rights of all people. Together, we create a working environment where both students and employees are engaged and work towards each other's success.

Responsibilities

Studium operates municipal adult education in its own name as well as commissioned education and has approximately 5,000 students. We offer Swedish for Immigrants, Swedish at the basic level, upper secondary subjects, and vocational training in several areas. The operations are located at five different addresses in Gothenburg.

When we ask our staff what characterizes Studium, the special "Studium atmosphere" is highlighted. Studium works according to the values: student focus, engagement, collaboration, and competence.

As a study and career counselor, you work with responsible freedom, with opportunities for cross-functional collaboration and development, supported by a competent and supportive management.

As a study and career counselor, you provide professional, objective, and independent information and guidance to those seeking advice. Based on their interests, abilities, and dreams, you give insight into what different professions and educations entail and how one can achieve them. You meet with adults individually and in groups, and conduct lessons aimed at strengthening the student's competence to make choices and prepare for work.

You meet students with both short and long educational backgrounds from their home countries. You will also work with study planning, creating study plans, and final grades/upper secondary diplomas. The work involves collaboration with authorities, organizations, companies, and colleagues. You will also assist our students with study economic questions and applications to CSN (the Swedish Board of Student Finance).

You will be part of the school's resource team together with counselors, special education teachers, and three other study and career counselors. The work will be distributed across more than one address, and some evening duties are included in the assignment.

The breadth of our operations gives us great opportunities for competence development, support, and collaboration. Read more about us at Studium and the education we offer at studiumgbg.se (https://studiumgbg.se).

Qualifications

A degree from the Study and Career Guidance Program is required. Experience from working with study and career guidance and good knowledge of the labor market are required. Experience from Komvux (Adult Education), validation education, and multilingualism are meritorious.

We assume that you have good knowledge of the national steering documents and regulations that govern adult education, as well as admission rules to higher education, and have experience in planning and administering your work.

The work requires that you can express yourself well in speech and writing and have good computer skills. Experience working in ALVIS is meritorious.

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your actions on the equal value of all and create a good atmosphere in the meeting.

Interviews are planned for June 23.

Other

For your interview, you need to bring a passport/national ID and, if applicable, proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is because, as an employer, we need to verify your identity and ensure that you have the right to work in Sweden.
