Housing with special support is an adapted form of accommodation for adults with disabilities who need support in their daily lives. There are two forms of housing with special support: group housing and service apartments. The operation is part of the Care and Social Services sector in Skövde Municipality.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want a rewarding and developmental job. In the role of support assistant in housing with special support, you have the opportunity to contribute to our users achieving the highest possible quality of life in their daily lives. Based on individual needs and wishes, you support our users by being a practical and everyday support. Together with the support educators, you are also part of the close-to-everyday work with users in their daily activities. In a pedagogical way, you stimulate and motivate the individual to participation and an independent life. The assignment also includes work with documentation in our systems.

You help users with everyday activities such as household chores, personal care, and leisure activities. The job responsibilities also include help with transfers, dispensing medication, handling physical and digital aids, and performing delegated and ordered interventions according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).

In addition to the tasks included in the job description, you also have extended responsibility within a specific area. Your manager will determine, in consultation with you, which area suits you and your profile best. Examples of such roles are: lead support assistant, fire safety officer, and hygiene officer.

Your knowledge and experience are valuable, which is why it is part of your role to contribute to the development of our common working methods.

Within the Care and Social Services sector, we work flexibly between the different units. This means that you also work shifts (resource shifts) at other residences than the one you normally work at.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a high school education and passing grades from the care and social services program or the child and youth program, or other equivalent education. It is positive (but not a requirement) if you have knowledge of conversation methods, such as motivational interviewing (MI), social stories, or drawing and talking. Experience with delegated tasks, clarifying pedagogy, low-affective handling, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is also meritorious.

As a person, you are calm and secure and have a respectful, good, and adapted approach. To succeed in the role, we see that you have good cooperation skills, are solution-focused, and adapt easily to new conditions. To thrive in the role, we believe you have the ability to take personal responsibility in your professional role, are proactive, and are used to working independently.

In this role, it is important that you can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish because you and the user need to understand each other, but also to be able to perform documentation. You are computer literate and preferably have experience with social documentation.

Category B driver's license is a requirement.
