The Orthopedic Department is an acute care unit that admits patients around the clock. Here, we provide pre- and post-operative care for patients with orthopedic diagnoses. We also care for some elective patients undergoing hip, knee, shoulder, and foot surgeries.

On our department, we have excellent collaboration among all professional categories, and there is a strong flow of interest in new ideas and improvements. We value interdisciplinary work to make the best use of knowledge. Your and your colleagues' knowledge is shared during our pulse/team rounds, where we review the patients and diagnoses on the ward. Job Responsibilities

In the role of assistant nurse, you work in professional teams. This means you participate in team rounds, planned mobilization sessions, and patient-centered nursing. Clear job descriptions exist for all professional categories, contributing to a successful working method within the team. We also work with patient safety based on special assignments, where you as an assistant nurse are involved. Clear goal cards and action plans are in place, and we work with operation-based scheduling.

The position includes working two weekends out of five.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse and meet the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. If you also have previous experience working in orthopedic operations and/or elderly care, it is highly meritorious for the position.

If you were employed as an assistant nurse on a permanent basis on July 1, 2023, and lack the certificate, attach your employment certificate and your grades (not just a diploma) from your assistant nurse education.

If you do not have the certificate, you may be employed as a care assistant on a fixed-term basis while waiting for the certificate.
