The school is very popular, where engagement and high expectations are key words. We invest heavily in employee well-being, and workplace environment issues are important to us. Our index on the employee survey is among the highest in the city. At Bobergsskolan, people simply enjoy working!

Your role

We have two school social workers at the school, and now one of them has chosen to switch to a school closer to home. This is sad for us, but an opportunity for you who want to work as a school social worker at a very well-functioning school. In the role of school social worker, you will be an important part of the school's student health team. As a school social worker, you work primarily preventively and health-promoting, and contribute with psychosocial and social competence in close collaboration with the student health professions and other school staff.

The tasks are varied and changing throughout the workday. Examples of tasks include:

  • Work preventively and health-promoting as part of the overarching structure where the entire student health team is included. Examples of health-promoting and preventive measures: work in the classroom, visits to activities, participation in values-based work, review and prepare suitable values-based material, etc.
  • Lead the safety group and work according to a yearly calendar where the school social worker's work together with other safety work in the school becomes clear.
  • Be part of the school's student health team and contribute with psychosocial knowledge regarding social risk and protective factors that can increase or hinder the student's ability to achieve goals.
  • Offer counseling conversations to students, both individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with guardians of students in need of support.
  • Function as a counselor for school staff regarding students where there is concern related to, for example, home situation or well-being.
  • Be responsible for administering received reports of harassment at the group level and following up that these are registered in the system.
  • Be responsible for registering students with long-term or repeated absences in the Prorenata system.
  • Be a recess supervisor and build connections with students.
  • Collaborate with external actors, e.g., social services, police, school social teams, field assistants, etc.
  • Continuously monitor research and evidence-based methods within school social work and have experience exchange with colleagues.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Worker).
  • Several years of experience in social work with children and young people, preferably as a school social worker.
  • Good knowledge of children and young people and their development.
  • Good knowledge within social work, psychosocial change work, sociology, psychology, social law, and broad, continuously updated knowledge about society's welfare system.

It is required that you as a school social worker take independent responsibility for your own professional work and how the psychosocial intervention should be concretized and shaped. This gives great freedom of action but also places high demands on good judgment and good knowledge of the basic mandate according to the Education Act, curricula, and other steering and guiding documents.

School social work requires the ability to handle multiple different perspectives, as the school social work should protect and highlight the significance of structural, organizational, and relational perspectives. The school social worker is also responsible for maintaining and deepening their professional competence and environmental monitoring.

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.

We offer

  • Wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK per year/full-time employee.
  • Opportunity to swap vacation days.
  • We believe employee well-being is important and place great emphasis on this to ensure staff enjoyment.
  • We work with a trust-based and close leadership.
  • We serve fantastic lunch in our school cafeteria and are known for our good food.

Stockholm City works with competency-based recruitment aimed at seeing each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
