About the job

We are currently looking for a Senior Social Secretary (1st Social Secretary) to join our unit. The unit consists of 23 employees in total, including four Senior Social Secretaries. The unit is located in Kortedala and handles exclusively cases regarding social assistance (försörjningsstöd). This is the first point of contact for anyone seeking financial support from social services in our area, meaning we are the face of the social services to those in need.

As a Senior Social Secretary, you will serve as an accessible and close support in daily work. You will provide supervision and lead the daily operations. Furthermore, you will identify the potential of case workers and adopt a coaching approach. You will participate in the onboarding of new employees and play a key role in creating and maintaining a good working environment within the unit. You are responsible for method development and staying updated within the field through current research.

Your role as a Senior Social Secretary includes membership in the unit's management group, where you assist the Unit Manager with various operational matters, such as scheduling, planning, and monitoring staff and unit goals. You will also participate in various collaborations with other Senior Social Secretaries in the administration and the city.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a Social Worker (socionom) and have worked for at least two years as a Social Secretary within social assistance. Experience working at a reception desk and in a disadvantaged area is considered meritorious. Experience working as a Senior Social Secretary, coordinator, or in another leadership function is also considered meritorious.

We are looking for you who are collaborative, open to change, and able to handle rapid changes in daily life. You are passionate about development work and help employees grow. Together with the Unit Manager, you are a vital link in creating a good and sustainable working situation for case workers. From the perspective of a Senior Social Secretary, you prioritize respectful treatment and legally secure case handling, always keeping our clients in focus. You have the ability to oversee your own area of responsibility and place your own operations in a larger context. You thrive in collaboration to create added value in overarching issues. Furthermore, you are receptive, consider different information sources and perspectives, and can adapt others' ideas to your own operations.

In the role of Senior Social Secretary, you are communicative and capable of conveying information, both orally and in writing. You adapt your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation. You are comfortable in social contacts, stand by your decisions, and can deliver difficult messages when necessary. You uphold the values of your workplace and ensure they are translated into action. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
