About the job

Do you want to make a difference for children who have experienced domestic violence? We are looking for you who want to start up a team focused on Domestic Violence (DV) within the Child and Family Investigation department.

We are developing our organization to strengthen the investigation work within Child and Family (BoF) with a focus on Domestic Violence (DV), and in connection with this, we are creating a new unit. Our newly started unit will consist of three teams with approximately six social secretaries in each team, led by a senior social secretary, and the unit is led by a unit manager. Two of the teams work with authority enforcement for BoF ages 0-18, and the team we are recruiting for now will have a special focus on working with children who have experienced DV. Since the team is new, you and the other employees will have the opportunity to influence the working methods within the team together with the unit manager. You work on behalf of and together with the responsible unit manager.

In your role as a senior social secretary, you distribute and lead the work. You are responsible for case distribution, case management, and legal security within your team. An important part of your work is to be available, to coach, and to provide methodological guidance in everyday life. You guide social secretaries on the importance of good treatment and good collaboration with the family, their network, and collaboration partners both within and outside the administration.

As a senior social secretary, you represent social services in the individual committee, the administrative court, the court of appeal, and similar legal processes. Keeping up to date with laws, regulations, and current research is seen as a matter of course in your work.

A foundation for succeeding in the assignment is to cooperate and collaborate with others. In your position, you will have an important role in developing collaboration both within and outside the administration to be able to make a difference for children who have experienced DV.

You work together with your senior colleagues; you have close contact where you support each other and develop the operations. Together with your senior colleagues, you conduct reviews of laws, regulations, and the Swedish Social Services Agency's guidelines for social secretaries. You also collaborate with other senior colleagues within the City of Gothenburg and participate in regular network meetings.

We work with the best interests of the child in focus and use LÖSA as a tool to increase children's participation. We have a solution-focused approach and deepen the investigation work by offering our social secretaries the opportunity to participate in development groups such as DV, School, Disability Support, and Psychiatry, as well as BBIC. We have also appointed social secretaries with special assignments (SMSU), whose task is to introduce new case handlers, which relieves you as the senior social secretary.

Process guidance takes place together with other senior staff within BoF. Our office is strategically located at Lergöksgatan 2a, near Frölunda Torg, where you have access to your own office.

About you

For this position, we are looking for you who have a social work degree and several years of experience in authority enforcement tasks within the area of Children and Young People. We want you to be well-versed in case handling and documentation within Child and Youth (BoU), based on legal security and quality, and that you can guide social secretaries well in the area. You have a strong child's perspective and work to ensure the child's voice and participation in the case handling process. You have good knowledge and practical experience of current legislation. Financial responsibility is important in this role, which means you have an economic perspective in your work.

We would like you to have previous experience in leadership assignments, for example as a senior social secretary. It is meritorious if you have special knowledge and experience within DV. It is not a requirement, but it is meritorious if you have a B-driving license.

You have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment without being dependent on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.

You are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.

You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common assignment and work to make it as good as possible. You are pleasant and helpful to other people even in a stressful situation. You have a good attitude towards those you meet at work.

You plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient way. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results.

You come up with new ideas and take initiative for improvements. You actively monitor the external environment within your profession and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operations.
