The Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine (KIT) department operates at 10 hospitals in Skåne and has more than 200 employees. We are responsible for Skåne Blood Donation and the laboratory operations within clinical immunology, transfusion medicine, and transplant immunology. Furthermore, our operations are accredited and primarily located in Lund. We are organized into processes with unit managers and process leaders/medical responsible persons working in close collaboration. Our operations are in a dynamic phase of development with many exciting projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, you will work with varied tasks, including working with blood donors, which involves receiving and approving donors before blood donation. You are also responsible for monitoring the donor's general condition both during and shortly after the donation. Additionally, you will work with component preparation, quality control, and the dispensing of blood components to patients.

Your workplace is in Lund and on our blood bus, where blood donations take place at various locations in Skåne. Some work at the blood donation center in Landskrona may also occur. Your working hours are scheduled on weekdays, during the day and evening, as well as on some Saturdays.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you if you are a licensed Biomedical Laboratory Scientist authorized to work in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale, as well as a valid B-driver's license, are requirements for the position. Experience working with blood donation/blood sampling or other common work within transfusion medicine is meritorious.
