The Business Area (VO) of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine (KIT) operates across ten hospitals in Skåne and employs over 200 staff members. The department is responsible for laboratory services within clinical immunology, transfusion medicine, and transplant immunology, as well as blood donation services in Skåne. KIT has the mission to provide the healthcare system in Region Skåne with high-quality blood components to support modern care for both acute and chronic conditions. The operations are accredited, and some parts of the work are centralized to Lund. We are organized into processes with close collaboration between unit managers, medical directors, and process leaders.
At the Blood Centre Kattesund in Lund, 10 staff members work. Our workplace is centrally located in fresh, modern premises with easy access to lunch restaurants, shops, and high foot traffic.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now welcoming a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist/Nurse to join us for a fixed-term employment of twelve months.
As a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist/Nurse with us, your tasks are varied and include working with blood donors, reception duties, and approving donors prior to donation. You are also responsible for the blood donation process itself, as well as monitoring the donor's general condition during and immediately after the donation. The primary location is Lund, but the role includes some rotation to the Blood Centre Triangeln in Malmö.
At Kattesund in Lund, we conduct apheresis donations for plasma and platelets in Skåne, offering a development opportunity to learn this specialized procedure after gaining experience with standard blood donations.
Recruiting new blood donors is of great importance to our operations. We naturally look for candidates who are interested in participating in various events and marketing campaigns, and who view personal meetings with potential new donors as a challenge and a positive part of the job. You will also participate in business development, as well as mentoring and training students and new colleagues. Your working hours will be scheduled on weekdays during day and evening shifts, as well as Saturdays.
QUALIFICATIONS
You must be a licensed Biomedical Laboratory Scientist or a licensed Nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a minimum level of C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is required. You should be interested in working with blood donors, and experience working in a blood centre or similar facility is considered an asset.
