Join us in launching our new housing facility in Hjällbo!

In autumn 2026, we will open a new housing facility at Nedre Hjällbogärdet 4 in Gothenburg – and now we are looking for dedicated support assistants who want to be involved from the very beginning.

Here, you will have the opportunity to work together with colleagues to build a safe, high-quality, and meaningful operation for adults with intellectual disabilities. Participation, respectful treatment, and personal development are at the center of our work.

About the position

The facility will consist of eight apartments and is aimed at adults with intellectual disabilities and substance abuse issues. Nursing care is a natural part of the job.

We are currently looking for two support assistants for day, evening, and weekend shifts.

As a support assistant, you provide individualized support based on each person's needs, wishes, and conditions. You support residents in their daily lives and contribute to creating safety, structure, and opportunities for increased independence and quality of life. The work includes support in daily routines, personal care, social training, and leisure activities. You also handle documentation, implementation plans, and key holder duties, as well as supporting practical daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and medication management.

In this role, you have many points of contact and collaborate with relatives, guardians, social services, and healthcare contacts. You become part of a dedicated team consisting of support assistants, support educators, and a unit manager, where collaboration, development, and good treatment are natural parts of everyday life. Joint planning within the area is also included.

With us, you get more than a job – you get the opportunity to help create a completely new operation from scratch. We offer a workplace where engagement, ideas, and development are encouraged, and where you, together with colleagues, make a real difference in people's lives. Here, you have the opportunity to influence the content and methods of the operation while developing in your professional role!

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant program, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits combined with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be within behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the work, which means you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider Educateit.

The position requires experience working with the target group of psychiatry, challenging behaviors, and complex needs. Experience working with mental illness, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders is meritorious.

You are experienced in documentation and are a proficient computer user in various systems. We work with Treserva, Time Care, and Personec, and it is positive if you have experience working with any of the above.

We would like you to have knowledge and experience of several of the following methods: LAB (Low-Affective Handling), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), Clear Pedagogy, IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), ESL (An Independent Life), and MI (Motivational Interviewing).

Experience in launching a new operation is meritorious.

We are looking for you who are pleasant, helpful, and respectful, even in stressful situations. You are flexible, secure under pressure, and see opportunities in change. You have a good understanding of individuals' different conditions and adapt your communication to the recipient to create participation and engagement.

Other

In this recruitment process, you will answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of sending a cover letter.

Selection and interviews will begin during the application period.
