Nyhemsskolan is a school covering grades F–9 (preschool class to grade 9) that also includes special education classes. The school is located close to both the city center and forests and nature.

Approximately 550 students attend from preschool class to grade 9, and there are two after-school care units with approximately 100 enrolled children. At our school, students get the best start for lifelong learning! The activities at Nyhemsskolan are characterized by learning, joy in work, safety, and well-being. The students and their learning are the focus, and we believe that everyone can and wants to develop.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our team, and we offer you one of the most important and rewarding roles available: Responsible Teacher in Special Education Groups at the lower secondary level. This role involves organizing and inspiring joyful learning every day, all the way through!

Your future responsibilities

Nyhemsskolan is looking for a driven, engaged, and structured leader and teacher to be responsible for our special education group. In this role, you will have the main responsibility for planning, coordinating, and leading the work with teaching and methods, based on research and proven experience. The role also includes teaching and actively participating in the school's student health work.

Your focus will be on creating clear planning and working methods that meet the unique needs of our students, while taking into account the school's conditions and values. As the responsible teacher for the school's special education group, you are expected to lead and inspire your colleagues, as well as motivate the team to ensure high quality in teaching.

In addition to leading the special education group team, you will also be part of the student health team and one of the grade-level working groups.

Together with the school's student health team and teachers, you will work on tasks such as pedagogical investigations, action programs, analyses at the organizational, group, and individual levels, supervision of staff, work in student groups in need of special support, and be a driving force in the development of adapted teaching.

Who are you?

You need to enjoy taking significant responsibility and building and maintaining relationships with both staff, students, and guardians. You are clear in your communication, have good collaboration skills, and contribute to creating engagement within the group.

You are good at organizing, keeping schedules, and are familiar with the school's governing documents as well as current research in the special educational field. As a person, you are stable and structured.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a certified teacher
  • Has good collaboration skills and can work structured based on established plans
  • Has experience in leading and inspiring colleagues
  • Is proactive and can develop working methods and teaching to meet students' different needs

Experience working in special education groups is an advantage.
