Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher for grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others involved in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You base your work on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

This position involves teaching in art and another subject in grades 7-9, based on your qualifications, competence, and the organization's needs. The position also involves mentorship. Together with a colleague, you are the mentor for a class. Mentorship is an important part of your assignment where you are expected to work close to the students to ensure functional student groups and promote student attendance.

Your workplace

Arenaskolan is a sports school located at Bilbörsen Arena. The school has profiles in football, hockey, figure skating, swimming, dance, and a multisport focus. Currently, there are approximately 550 students at Arenaskolan, and we have about 80 employees.

Arenaskolan's overarching goal is maximum learning, equity, joy, and engagement. We achieve this, among other things, by working together systematically and focused on ensuring that all students experience safety and study peace, which is the foundation for the student to achieve maximum learning. We have a common and clear value base that all staff work actively with. We have clear and common rules of conduct and routines for the entire school, so that students meet clarity and predictability throughout the school day. For example, students have fixed seats in all classrooms, and we conduct frequent follow-ups of our rules of conduct.

We work to create a good working environment for our teachers. To allow teachers to focus on teaching and planning, there are support functions at the school that relieve other tasks, such as creating well-being throughout the school day. You who apply

First and foremost, we are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach art in grades 7-9. Secondarily, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in grades 7-9. It is meritorious if you have eligibility to teach more subjects, based on the organization's needs.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also meritorious if you have experience of successful leadership in the classroom.

In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
