Are you ready for a challenging and developmental assignment within Day Activity Services in the southwest?

We are now looking for a Support Pedagogue in the Southwest to Järnbrotts Prästväg.

The team you will join at Järnbrotts Prästväg consists of ten support assistants and one support pedagogue. There are 15 users who have their activities at this facility. The premises are located at Järnbrotts Prästväg and are built based on the Snoezelen method. Our common approach is based on giving the user the opportunity to stimulate senses, emotions, communication, and creativity based on the four senses; sight, hearing, touch, and smell, with a focus on activating, resting, and communicating. The environment should be exciting and invite participation in activities or relaxation. We work with individuals at an early developmental level, which requires attention to small signals and building communication based on each individual.

Job Responsibilities

As a pedagogue with us, you will work closely with our participants. Together with the staff group, you plan and carry out activities in the facility based on each individual's conditions in a way that enables increased independence, self-determination, and participation for the participants. You have an interest and knowledge in the activities we offer our participants.

The activities we offer include, among others, sign song, sensory stimulation, training, and music time.

You have a supervisory role and contribute with pedagogical support in everyday life to develop the group's competence. You are a role model regarding pedagogical work and treatment, and you actively work to ensure that participants have a meaningful occupation.

In addition to your specific areas of responsibility, you are part of the work group and perform the same tasks as your colleagues.

You will be part of a network with other pedagogues for support, experience sharing, and development work. As a support pedagogue, you work in close collaboration with and on behalf of the unit manager.

Working hours are during the day: Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

For the position of support pedagogue, post-secondary specialization in the field of disability is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education must have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Good computer skills and good knowledge of social documentation are required for the position.

Knowledge and experience of working with individuals at an early developmental level and experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) are required.
