School Social Worker at Lidingö City

Do you want to help develop our school social team in Lidingö? We are looking for an engaged and innovative social worker who wants to contribute to the future development of interdisciplinary school social work. Together, we create a practice where students receive the support they need to attend school.

The role of the school social worker is part of the transition to the new social services. Within Lidingö City, several initiatives are underway to make the city's social services more accessible and preventive. The school social team will be one of the non-assistance-evaluated interventions that Lidingö City works with to more quickly provide children and young people with the support they need and are entitled to. The position is employed under the Learning and Culture Administration. Together with a social worker from the Care and Social Administration, you will work in a joint school social team in close collaboration between our two administrations.

Responsibilities

In the role of social worker in the school social team, you will function as a coordinator (case manager) for various processes aimed at either preventing escalating absenteeism or helping students who are absent return to school. In this role, you will assess needs, set goals, and follow up on interventions together with the individual and their network. As a social worker in our new school social team, you will work closely with schools, students, guardians, and other actors to promote school attendance and well-being.

The team members are employed within their respective administrations but work together towards the common goal of getting all students to school. You will contribute to building structures, working methods, and collaboration. The working method is based on scientific grounds and proven experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is educated as a social worker
• Has a genuine interest in the development of children and young people
• Wants to work in a developmental, interdisciplinary team to find solutions that make a difference
• Thrives working both independently and collaboratively
• Works systematically and can initiate, plan, execute, and follow up

Employment Terms

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.

The city applies individual salary setting. The position is a temporary project appointment with a start date in August 2026 until December 2026, with a possible extension.

The position covers 30-50% according to agreement.
