Önnerödsskolan is looking for a certified teacher in Mathematics and Science (years 7–9) to teach in our special education group. We are seeking someone who wants to build upon the excellent organization that already exists. The school has a driven staff, the operations are conducted with good structure, and there is a high degree of goal achievement.

Önnerödsskolan is located in the Landvetter community and is a school for grades 4–9 with 460 students. The school has good bus connections to all major towns in the region. We have an open collaborative culture with high expectations of each other and of the students.

Your assignment

Our special education group is located in the middle of the school. Here, students receive part or all of their education for a longer or shorter period. We have two rooms and an anteroom available for use. The operation is called Kompassen (The Compass).

The staff at Kompassen work closely with the grade-level teams, subject teachers, the student health team, and guardians. Together, you offer students quality education and school life tailored to their individual needs. The position includes mentoring a small group of students in close collaboration with the students' mentors from the grade-level team. You plan, implement, and develop the education and work in Kompassen based on rough plans from subject teachers in the respective grades.

Requirements for the position

• Personal suitability is highly valued. It is an advantage if, in addition to experience, you have education relevant to the target group, such as in child and youth development or neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPV/NPF).
• Experience teaching in a special education group or adapted school environment for students in grades 4–9.
• Experience teaching both Mathematics and Science with the ability to adapt teaching to students' different needs and prerequisites.
• Knowledge and experience regarding neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF) and low-affective interaction.
• Education in child and youth development, special education, or inclusive learning environments.
• Ability to work relationally and create safety, motivation, and study peace for students.

To obtain employment, an extract from the Police Register must be presented. An extract from the Suspicion Register may also be required depending on the position.
