Who are we?
Villastadsskolan is a grades F-6 school with currently around 140 students, one class per grade level. The school is located in Kneippen, a quiet and well-functioning district in Norrköping consisting mostly of single-family homes.
The school was built as early as 1929 and features a large and exciting schoolyard that invites play. Instruction for grades F-2 and the after-school program for grade F-1 takes place in the main building. Some instruction takes place in a pavilion with spacious, modern facilities. These facilities house instruction for grades 3-6 and the after-school program for grades 2-6.
Proximity to nature and water offers great opportunities for outdoor education. For example, we have our own school forest, which is about a 30-minute walk away. Within walking distance, we also have the Stadium Arena, the ice hall, and the city library, which we often take advantage of.
Our goal is for all students to progress as far as possible based on their prerequisites. We work with high expectations for the student, both academically and regarding responsibility, with appropriate goals based on age.
Educators have undergone training in cooperative learning during recent school years, which has increased student activity during lessons.
Your responsibilities
You work at the after-school program before and/or after the school day. You belong to a work team where, together with other after-school teachers, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the after-school activities. There are currently six certified after-school teachers at the school, and we need to strengthen the team with more staff.
During the school day, you work together with one or two teachers and are attached to one or two grade levels. You are involved in the students' development both before, during, and after the school day.
The position may include teaching Physical Education and Health for grades 1-3. You are expected to co-plan the annual schedule for Physical Education and Health with one or more colleagues.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a certified after-school teacher with qualifications in Physical Education and Health as a primary requirement. Alternatively, you may be certified in another practical-aesthetic subject. We would like you to have work experience in a similar role and experience in developing and managing an after-school program. You need to be open to change and willing to adapt effectively to these changes.
You have good knowledge and experience working with students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF). You tackle tasks independently and consult others when necessary. By observing students throughout the day, you contribute to the development of students and colleagues by providing positive support so that individuals can reach their full potential. You are a clear leader in the student group, are flexible, and have a positive view of students. We want you to share our goal that all students should progress as far as possible based on their prerequisites.
Qualifications in working with students who have speech disorders are considered an advantage. You can convey oral information clearly and securely. We also view it positively if you have experience working preventively and promotively regarding student safety, as well as being confident in reacting and acting if conflicts arise between students.
You have clear pedagogical insight and the ability to translate curriculum goals into your work. As a person, you are engaged, receptive, and skilled at building good relationships with both students and guardians.
You appreciate working in a team where you contribute your knowledge, experience, and solution-focused approach to create a meaningful after-school program for our students, complementing the primary school curriculum in an enjoyable way during after-school hours.
To succeed in this role, we require that you can speak, write, and read Swedish fluently.
