Description

Do you want to work as a special needs teacher in the Collaboration Team for Increased School Attendance? We are now looking for a colleague!

The Collaboration Team for Increased School Attendance on Hisingen is a central school social team working with problematic school absenteeism. The team has been in existence for seven years, with the first years operating under the project name TIPS (Early Interventions for Problematic School Absenteeism).

The team includes a special needs teacher organized within the overarching team of the Primary and Secondary School Authority, as well as three social workers from the Prevention Unit 6–18 years at the Social Services Administration Hisingen.

The target group consists of children in Hisingen's primary schools, from preschool class to year 6, in both municipal and independent schools. The team also handles anonymized consultations regarding absenteeism cases for preschool class to year 9.

Using a cross-professional approach, the team's goal is to increase school attendance and improve the child's well-being. Upon request from the school and with consent from guardians, the team assists with mapping, analysis, and initiating a plan for school reintegration, as well as participating in follow-up meetings.

Responsibilities

Together with a social worker, you will actively participate in mapping and analysis work. You will participate in follow-up collaboration meetings, such as SIP (Individual and Plan Collaboration), and have a supportive and advisory role in contact with schools related to individual assignments. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the school's student health services and school staff with the aim of strengthening relationships and achieving school reintegration.

You will collaborate closely with the social workers in the team and participate in the team's joint weekly meetings. You will also regularly participate in the Collaboration Forum, a cross-professional forum between schools, social services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), and Student Health Services (UPH). The purpose is to highlight common individual cases, reflect on dilemmas concerning children with problematic school absenteeism, and discuss current themes for shared understanding and knowledge enhancement.

You will lead workshops, lectures, and competence development sessions focusing on, among other things, problematic school absenteeism, early signs of attendance problems, and how to increase the participation of parents and children.

You will continuously monitor the external environment, gather new knowledge, and stay updated regarding the target group. This is to continue developing good and effective working methods and approaches based on the target group's needs.

Qualifications

The position requires that you are a qualified special needs teacher with several years of experience working as a special needs teacher in schools. You are well-versed in and keep up to date with primary and secondary school legislation and processes.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with the target group of problematic school absenteeism, students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF), and if you have interest and experience in working with collaboration.

You are accustomed to working systematically with leading processes, analyzing, and following up, and you are well-versed in the SIP process.

You have good analytical skills with a focus on finding resources and solutions within the system. You have an approach that increases the conditions for participation for children and parents.

You work well in teams, have a humble and non-hierarchical approach, and have the ability to create a good collaboration climate between families, schools, and other actors.

You enjoy working with competence development, giving presentations, and have an interest in development work.

Your office is located at Blackevägen 1, and you will have assignments at schools across all of Hisingen. This involves both physical and digital meetings, which requires you to have good organizational skills as well as flexibility.

You are part of the central student health service on Hisingen, with the Head of Student Health as your direct manager. Your closest colleagues are the social workers in the Collaboration Team for Increased School Attendance. The joint management group for the Collaboration Team consists of the Head of Student Health Hisingen and the Unit Manager for the Prevention Unit 6–18 years.

Are you interested in working in collaboration regarding this target group? We welcome your application!
