We are now looking for a Social Secretary for Social Assistance who wants to be part of our important work and contribute to creating positive changes – both in the short and long term. This is a newly established position due to the new activity requirement in social assistance.

Job Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Investigating the individual's resources and obstacles for self-sufficiency.
• Processing and documenting applications for financial assistance.
• Making decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) based on the current delegation order.
• Working in a coaching and supportive manner with the individual, with the goal of self-sufficiency through work, studies, or other benefits.
• Using motivational work to focus on supporting the individual in change processes.
• Collaborating internally and externally.
• Calling for SIP meetings (Individual Service Plan) and other network meetings.

As we are a small municipality with short distances to and between our cooperation partners, we have room for flexible solutions. Support in the work is provided by colleagues and management via the Senior Social Secretary and Unit Manager.

Your workplace is based in central Mariestad, and working hours are Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00. Start date is as soon as possible according to agreement.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who have a degree in Social Work. Alternatively, you have other education that the employer deems relevant. Previous experience within social services is meritorious.

Your role involves close collaboration with other actors both internally and externally, which requires you to be a positive person with good teamwork skills, service-oriented, and guided by values.

For the position in social assistance, you must be able to demonstrate a professional attitude by being supportive towards our clients while simultaneously being clear and informative.
