Your responsibilities

The role of cook involves all common tasks in a kitchen. You will prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks, as well as special diets in accordance with current agreements. Your responsibilities also include ensuring that the correct product is packed at the right time and delivered to the right customer. You will also interact with our guests during serving hours and work with self-control and post-work tasks such as cleaning and dishwashing.

You will work closely with other colleagues to produce well-prepared meals.

Your workplace

Food & Restaurant is responsible for cooking for Linköping's preschools, primary and secondary schools, as well as elderly care. In our 70 kitchens, 250 employees prepare approximately 26,000 meals daily, which are served in school restaurants or delivered to preschools and elderly care facilities. Our mission is to offer our customers a cost-effective, well-prepared, and nutritious meal. We are committed to ensuring our operations are characterized by high quality and professionalism. We base our cooking on seasonal ingredients and prepare meals from scratch as much as possible, close to the guest, to promote health while considering the environment and climate.

We are now looking for two cooks for Tornhagsskolan, located in Gottfridsberg. You can reach this location by public transport from Linköping Central Station in about 7 minutes.

The team at Tornhagsskolan consists of 12 employees, including a restaurant manager and a deputy. The operations are divided into two kitchens: one in the main building and one in the K-house. Currently, 2,500 portions are prepared daily, of which 1,000 stay at the school while the rest are delivered. The delivered portions go to three schools, five resource schools, four preschools, and six day activities.

Working hours are weekdays between 07:00–15:30.

You who apply

We are looking for you who have a high school education in restaurant and food, a large household education, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Alternatively, equivalent work experience assessed by the employer. You must have previous work experience in cooking.

Experience with school meals and special diets is considered an advantage. However, we require good knowledge regarding special diets. Experience with common tasks in a restaurant kitchen, such as dishwashing and cleaning, is also considered an advantage.

Since the work involves following recipes and handling large quantities of special diets, we require very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. We also require knowledge of regulations and guidelines regarding food hygiene and self-control. Good computer skills are required for printing and checking orders, among other things.

You are secure, stable, and adaptable. To thrive and succeed in the role of a cook with us, you need to be calm and stable in stressful and pressured situations. As a cook, you work closely with other colleagues, which means you need to be able to work well with others and have the ability to listen and communicate constructively.
