Due to the expansion of our operations, we now have the opportunity to welcome you as a nurse with a genuine interest in palliative care to our unit in Helsingborg. Palliative care and Advanced Specialized Home Care (ASIH) is a service that cares for severely ill patients in their homes. The care is specialized based on each individual patient's needs. The overall goal of Region Skåne's palliative care is to provide good and close specialized palliative care adapted to the patient's needs, with the aim of promoting quality of life and increased well-being, as well as providing good and close support to relatives. The service also includes other targeted palliative or curative measures. We strive to offer patients and relatives qualified care, both medically and psychosocially, around the clock. One of the positions therefore involves working partly during unsocial hours. We care for patients of all ages and with all diagnoses where there is a need for specialized palliative care. Great importance is placed on the approach to each patient and their relatives.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of a nurse with us, you provide Advanced Specialized Home Care. The goal of this specialized care is to collaborate with the patient and other healthcare providers to alleviate the patient's distressing symptoms to achieve the highest possible quality of life. This means meeting the patient's physical, psychological, and existential needs, as well as providing support to relatives.

We offer you a developing and exciting job where you become part of a cross-professional team. You lead and actively participate in the planning of the patient's daily care together with other professions and collaborate with other healthcare providers, taking into account the whole life situation.

Observation periods (hospitation) are welcome. We follow an introduction program, and after completing shadowing, you will receive support through mentorship from an experienced colleague at the unit, based on your needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a minimum level of C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Since the job involves caring for patients in their homes, a valid B-driver's license is also a requirement. We would appreciate it if you have a few years of professional experience as a nurse, and if you have specialized education in oncology, palliative care, and/or pediatrics, it is meritorious.

A large part of the work involves support and conversation, so you need to be communicative and have the ability to meet people on different levels. You have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritize between different tasks. Being able to work independently and make your own decisions is important, while you also value teamwork.
