Do you want to work with people? Then we have the job for you.
Within the disability support department, you work with everything from home care to supporting individuals in their workplace, during leisure activities, or in creative environments such as theater and music. Daily support is the foundation – but needs vary. Regardless of the assignment, the goal is always the same: to strengthen people's independence and quality of life.
What is a disability?
A disability is a reduced physical, mental, or intellectual ability. It can be congenital or acquired later in life and can be visible or invisible. Every person is unique – with their own abilities, needs, and strengths – and that is what makes the work both meaningful and developmental.
Our operations
We are recruiting for several operations within disability support:
- Residential care with special support (BmSS) – 24/7 operation.
- Day activity centers – habilitation and work-oriented activities during the day.
- Supported housing – support in the user's home environment, primarily during the day but also evenings and weekends.
- Short-term residential care for adults – time-limited support and care for adult users.
Placement is based on the needs of the operations and your previous experience.
Job Responsibilities
The work varies depending on the operation but may include:
- Educational support in daily life
- Personal care
- Cooking, laundry, and other daily chores
- Activities and social support
- Documentation and medication management according to delegation
Challenging and self-harming behaviors may occur in some of our operations.
Summer Temporary Position:
You need to be able to work according to a schedule for a few consecutive weeks during week 25–35. In your application, state when you are available. There is an opportunity to start as an hourly substitute before the summer.
Hourly Temporary Position:
As an hourly substitute, you work as needed and log your availability yourself. Working hours vary between day, evening, weekend, and night depending on the operation.
Qualifications
You must be at least 18 years old to apply for a position with us, in accordance with regulations on the working environment for minors (AFS 2023:2).
To be able to maintain documentation, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which means a requirement of passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered a language test through the test provider Educateit.
If you are trained as a support assistant, assistant nurse, or have another education the employer deems equivalent, or are currently studying in healthcare, pedagogy, or social work, this is meritorious. Experience in healthcare, pedagogy, or social work is also meritorious.
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their own tasks and the group's tasks. You think about those we serve and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results.
You are friendly and helpful to others, even in stressful situations. You show respect to everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure the student/client/user gets what they need.
You are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.
In the Department for Disability Support, we work with the concept "Hour to Permanent" (3T). The goal is to lead to permanent employment in the department for trained substitutes; approx. 70% of our permanent staff come from hourly positions. The staffing unit can advise on education, and it is possible to combine education with work through the staffing unit. We also guide trained personnel towards operations that have needs.
