About Smultronbacken HVB
Smultronbacken HVB is a home-like residential care facility (HVB) in eastern Gothenburg that receives children, primarily aged 10–13, who require treatment due to developed challenging behaviors.
The children may have few or no functional social relationships and a lack of trust in the adult world. Many have experiences of violence, either as witnesses or victims, or carry other traumatic experiences. Lack of school attendance may occur but is not in itself a basis for placement. The children may also have one or more functional variations/disabilities.
The facility also receives emergency placements while waiting for a permanent foster home to be offered.
