Social Secretary to the Investigation Team
We are now looking for a social worker with the role of investigation secretary within the authority exercise of social child and youth care, as one of our employees has chosen to move on to another assignment within the municipality.
Bengtsfors and Mellerud municipalities have joint authority exercise in Mellerud Municipality regarding the reception and investigation unit for children and young people within Individual and Family Care. The unit is responsible for investigating and following up on outpatient interventions for children, young people, and their families in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young People (LVU) for both of our municipalities.
We have an well-established collaboration in our Dalsland municipalities with a collaborative family law and foster home unit, where we expanded the collaboration in 2024 with a child secretary group responsible for following up on care when placements are outside the home. A cohesive child and youth care in Dalsland for the benefit of children and families is a clear ambition.
The unit consists of two teams (reception and investigation team) with their own lead social secretary, and the unit has a total of 13 social secretary positions. With a good basic staffing, we create conditions to develop and meet future needs for a sustainable and knowledge-based social service. With this basic staffing, we see that we can create conditions for a good work environment in which there will be room within the assignment for personal development. The lead social secretary distributes cases and is responsible for the daily operational work as well as providing close work and method supervision. Collaboration with your closest colleagues and their units is of great importance. The municipalities have well-structured Outpatient Units where our common goal is to offer need-adapted interventions to avoid placements outside the home.
The tasks involve investigation and case processing after a received report of concern/application according to current legislation, the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young People (LVU). Other common tasks include preventive work in collaboration with other actors, both internal and external.
What can we offer you?
You will become part of a creative and developing work group with good access to close supervision, and our lead social secretaries have long and solid experience in child welfare work. We are a workplace with a good atmosphere and a helpful climate. Here we take responsibility for each other and collaborate to give the best possible support to children and young people. Even though the work is demanding, we ensure to create a work environment where you receive support, structure, and opportunities for development.
Our work is characterized by quality, legal certainty, and engagement - and we always strive to do the best for those we are here for.
We also offer fitness allowances, flexible working hours agreements, and holiday exchange. Supervision and continuous competence development are seen as a matter of course!
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a social work degree or have an equivalent education that meets the eligibility requirements to perform certain tasks within social services' child and youth care.
The position requires that you have very good knowledge of the legislation SoL, LVU, and other relevant legislation. Previous experience in the field is meritorious.

You need to have a good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships, both in relation to those we meet and in relation to the work group and other collaboration partners. To be able to handle the different situations that may arise in the work, you also need to be flexible, solution-focused, and enjoy collaborating across operational boundaries with the client's needs in focus. You are a confident person and feel comfortable making independent decisions according to the municipality's delegation order and current legislation.
