At our meeting point, we have health educators, activity coordinators, counselors, elderly advisors, digital supporters, and several other competencies that together create support and opportunities for our visitors. We also drive development work to meet future needs, and we are now looking for you to join us as a conversation leader for people with cognitive illness and in health-promoting work.

Your role

As a conversation leader, you will work together with a colleague to:

• Initiate and lead conversation groups for people in the early stages of cognitive illness
• Plan, implement, and follow up on activities
• Collaborate with other actors such as memory clinics, health centers, and other districts
• Conduct motivational conversations and health-promoting activities in our lifestyle program Brain Health Together

Brain Health Together is a lifestyle program for people aged 65+ aimed at promoting brain health through lectures and activities within five areas: cognition, physical activity, healthy diet, social interaction, and control of heart and vascular-related factors.

This is a job for you who want to use conversation as a tool to strengthen people's health and quality of life.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• A relevant academic education, for example, as a social worker, physiotherapist, or nurse
• Knowledge about the target group of seniors and cognitive illnesses
• Knowledge and experience in leading conversation groups and using conversation methods

It is an advantage if you have experience within the five areas that the lifestyle program is based on, such as exercise and diet.

We place special emphasis on the following personal abilities and skills: You have a great interest in working with conversation as your primary tool and are secure, stable, with good self-insight. You have a good ability to plan and drive your work forward independently, adapt easily when conditions change, and show commitment in your work that spreads to others. Furthermore, you have a good ability to establish and maintain relationships.

To work with the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes for the City of Stockholm, you must show an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than 6 months from the date of issue.

The Department of Elderly Care is responsible for assistance case management and various interventions that provide opportunities for the elderly to have their care needs met. Here you will find care and nursing homes, service houses, support for relatives, day activities, and home care. The administration applies full-time as the norm, and you will be employed within the Kungsholmen Elderly Care.
