The Department of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine offers a spectrum of exciting challenges and opportunities. The emergency department is one of the largest in the country, with over 140,000 visits per year. These are distributed across two emergency departments, one in Lund and one in Malmö. Specialist doctors in emergency medicine are available at both departments and work in teams with nurses, assistant nurses, and secretaries. We train emergency doctors for the future of emergency healthcare with high competence.

Emergency Department Malmö has a broad emergency service, where patients of all ages and with all different reasons for seeking care are treated.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for two licensed doctors for Emergency Department Malmö for a fixed-term substitute position of 6 months. This is a perfect opportunity to experience working in emergency medicine and get to know the clinic. The position is meritorious for potential future specialist training in emergency medicine.

At Emergency Department Malmö, you will take care of children and adults of all ages with a wide range of diseases and conditions from medicine to surgery and orthopedics. The work is spread over the entire day and all days of the week. When working at our emergency department, senior supervisors in emergency medicine are available on-site for supervision around the clock.

The position will be based in Malmö, but duties may also occur within other operations within Region Skåne.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are interested in you who are not afraid of a high work pace. You are prepared for the fact that the initial plan does not always hold and new pragmatic solutions need to be found. You find patient contact rewarding, just as much as practical procedures. Furthermore, you enjoy working together with others, which means you learn by sharing yourself and receiving continuous feedback. It is highly meritorious if you are curious about emergency medicine itself!

To better understand the meaning of the job, you can read the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations for emergency medicine as well as the mission of emergency medicine defined by the Swedish Society for Emergency Medicine (SWESEM).

We are looking for you who have a Swedish medical license with permission to work within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous work experience in emergency medicine and relevant research are meritorious.
