The unit for care during unsocial hours offers care for children on weekdays from 17:30 to 07:30, as well as weekends and holidays around the clock in a premises at the Valvet preschool on Kungsholmen. Some activities are also offered for families at home on Mondays to Thursdays from 18:30 to 00:00.

In the first instance, guardians drop off and pick up children at our premises, but in some cases on weekdays, childcare assistants pick up and drop off children at preschools/daycare centers.

We are looking for you who, together with us, work to ensure that all children have a secure everyday life regardless of the time of day. We are looking for childcare assistants for a fixed-term position with unsocial working hours.

The degree of employment is variable, and the work can be combined with studies or other part-time work. The schedule is set for nights, evenings, and weekends.

At the OB (unsocial hours) unit, a group leader and several childcare assistants work – all driven by the desire to give children the best care. We work for children's security and well-being. For us, it is important that the children feel involved in our operations, and we offer an stimulating and developing environment. The unit is centrally located with close proximity to the Fridhemsplan metro station.

Your role

As a childcare assistant within care during unsocial hours, you work in a unit with children of mixed ages, from 1 to 13 years. Activities are adapted to the children's age and needs. This can include playing games or crafting indoors, as well as discovering new parks to play in outdoors. Your role includes receiving children, attending to their needs, bedtime routines, waking them up on weekday mornings, heating and serving meals to the children, and picking up and dropping off children at preschools/daycare centers.

As a childcare assistant, you are an important part of the work team and contribute together with your colleagues to ensure that everyday life at the preschool runs smoothly and that care and daily pedagogical work are based on children's participation and choices.

An important part of the work is the daily contact with guardians, where you are engaged, child-focused, and service-oriented.

Together with other colleagues at the preschool, you contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each child and for the entire group of children.

We are looking for

You who apply for the position have:

• Education as a childcare assistant or similar education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Experience from working in child care with a clear child focus.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

We consider it meritorious if you have education or experience working with children in need of special support.

You collaborate with children, colleagues, and guardians in a sensitive and smooth manner, and you listen, communicate, and handle conflicts in a constructive way. You act in accordance with decisions, goals, policies, and guidelines. We work based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, about which you have good knowledge. You are calm, stable, and have the ability to focus on the right things.
