Temporary Social Secretary for the Intake Group, Lidingö Municipality

Lidingö Municipality is investing in the social services' work with children and young people. We are conducting development work to provide even better conditions for creating a modern, preventive, and accessible social service. As part of this, we are now focusing on a team-based, structured approach across the entire area of individual, family, and integration.

The Children, Young People, and Family unit consists of three departments:

  • The Intake and Investigation Unit for Children, Young People, and Families
  • The Intervention and Foster Care Unit
  • The Open Care Unit (in-house)

We are now looking for a temporary social secretary for the intake group, to cover for a colleague who will be on parental leave.

We belong to the Care and Social Services Department, which is one of our six departments in Lidingö Municipality. Around 800 employees work here to support our residents in all stages of life. We work with individual and family care, social psychiatry, disability services, and elderly care. We always put the individual's needs at the center.

1 position.

Job Responsibilities

The intake group is a work team with high competence and commitment. Experienced and competent colleagues work closely together. Your main tasks will be to work with children and young people as well as their parents. You will receive reports of concern, applications, and provide advice regarding children and adolescents. Preliminary assessments determine whether the child's/young person's needs require further investigation.

In the role of a social secretary within the intake group, you will receive applications and reports, conduct safety assessments and preliminary assessments that lead to a decision. If a decision is made to investigate, the case is transferred to the investigation group, with whom there is close cooperation.

We work with public authority functions regulated by, among other things, the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). The intake work involves a form of on-call duty during daytime for urgent cases, where the work is planned jointly within the group. The work requires collaboration internally with other units and departments, as well as externally, with the aim of offering coordinated support to the residents of Lidingö. The intake group consists of four social secretaries. To ensure close leadership, the group is led by a team leader.

We have external supervision, and at the unit, we work with inspiration from Signs of Safety and Motivational Interviewing (MI), which are foundational to our approach. If needed, we therefore offer basic training in these methods and approaches for new employees.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a social worker with previous experience in public authority functions within the area of children, young people, and families, preferably within intake. You have an easy way with both oral and written expression. It is an advantage if you have experience with Signs of Safety and knowledge of the assessment method BBIC.

As a person, you find social work important and enjoyable. You take initiative, drive your work forward, and have a genuine commitment to creating change. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented, professional, and confident in your role.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.

The municipality applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement. The position is a temporary assignment of approximately one year. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
