About the position

As a housing support worker at Fokushuset, you will be based in Norrtälje, where you will also carry out your assignments, as well as in Rimbo and the surrounding area. You help adults between the ages of 18 and 65 who have various support needs based on psychiatric disabilities or co-occurring disorders. You work primarily in their homes. The user's individual needs and wishes guide your work, and you provide valuable support in daily life using the methods ESL (An Independent Life) and MI (Motivational Interviewing). You work with, not for, the person in need of support. You support increased independence by creating conditions to make it easier to handle everyday life together with the user.

The employment is a permanent position.

Your responsibilities include among other things:

• Carrying out interventions at the customer's home based on assistance decisions.
• Planning, implementing, and participating in daily chores.
• Motivating the user to develop and use their own skills.
• Being a support during contacts with authorities.
• Accompanying on activities.
• Performing digital housing support through video calls.
• Documentation.

About you

For this position, you need:

• Experience with the target group.
• At least a high school education in care and nursing or other equivalent education.
• Category B driver's license and driving experience.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Knowledge of low-affective handling.
• Knowledge of the ESL method (An Independent Life).
• Knowledge of the MI method (Motivational Interviewing).

You have a good attitude towards everyone you meet. Flexibility is one of your strengths, and you enjoy working independently. You are innovative, empathetic, and responsive. Even in stressful situations, you maintain your calm and act safely and steadily. You are responsible and have the ability to independently structure your work in an efficient manner. Your social competence enables you to collaborate well with others, and you take responsibility for both your own and your colleagues' work environment. You have a pedagogical understanding of people's different prerequisites and you easily adapt your communication accordingly.
