At Malmö Neptunigymnasium, we are looking for an engaged school counselor who wants to contribute their skills to the school's work in promoting student attendance and well-being. We are looking for you who have a strong commitment to students' learning, health, and development for a 1-year project position with the possibility of extension. Job Responsibilities

As a counselor in this assignment, you work to strengthen the school's organization to promote student attendance. You work both directly with students and in close collaboration with the school staff to create good conditions for student attendance, learning, and well-being. A central part of the assignment is to drive and develop the school's attendance work at the individual, group, and unit levels.

You work on mapping and analyzing the causes of absenteeism and contribute to developing and following up on measures that strengthen students' school attendance. The work involves systematic and preventive work with a focus on learning environment, safety, and participation in close connection to the school's quality and development work as well as action plans to promote student attendance.

In the role, you collaborate both internally and externally. You build relationships with students, guardians, and mentors, and cooperate with the student health team, school leadership, and external actors. In addition to the preventive and strategic work, you work, where applicable, with individual support through curative conversations, contribute psychosocial competence to the organization, and advocate for a holistic view of the student's situation, with the goal of promoting development, health, and goal achievement.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Social Work Degree (210 ECTS credits)
• Several years of experience from social work with a focus on young people
• Good insight into the school's goals and regulatory documents
• Good digital competence
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing.

• Good habit of collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks.

The assignment as a counselor requires that you are secure in your professional role and have the ability to handle complex issues at both the individual and system levels. You analyze problems, find solutions, and drive your work independently and structured. You adapt easily to changed conditions, absorb new information, and see opportunities in new situations. Furthermore, you communicate clearly, listen actively, and create trust in meetings with students, guardians, and colleagues. You collaborate well with other professions and work relationally, with respect and sensitivity. Furthermore, you value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
