Do you want to contribute to a meaningful and active leisure time for the municipality's residents? We are now looking for an Activity Leader for our operations, focusing on participation, community, and creating inclusive and social activities.
About Us
The preventive activity service offers seniors in Solna a wide range of social and physical activities within the framework of the city's meeting points, in collaboration with volunteers and voluntary organizations. We are part of Humaniora vård och omsorg, the municipal provider of care and social services in Solna.
The operation includes several meeting points – places for older people where staff and volunteers together create a varied and attractive range of activities in a pleasant environment.
The goal of the operation is to create conditions for seniors to strengthen and/or maintain their physical and mental well-being, as well as to support an independent life.
The operation is simultaneously in a development phase where the assignment is broadened to also include people with disabilities. In this area, a new range of activities is being built up, focusing on participation, community, and individually adapted activities.
The current position is located in this development part and involves an active role in establishing, developing, and implementing activities for the target group. We are in an exciting start-up phase where we are building a new range of activities from scratch. Our goal is to create meaningful and health-promoting activities for people with disabilities. Here you have the opportunity to help shape the operation, influence the content, and contribute to something of long-term value for the residents of Solna.
As an employee in the preventive activity service, you are part of a cross-professional team consisting of health educators, digital fixers, repair service, meeting coordinators, occupational therapists, dementia coordinators, relatives' consultants, vision and hearing instructors, and administrators.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to help develop the operation
- Space to initiate and drive activities based on your own ideas and interests
- Engaged and driven colleagues
- Valuable work focused on creating a meaningful everyday life for the residents of Solna.
What Does the Job Involve?
As an Activity Leader, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on activities for people with disabilities of different ages – from young adults to the elderly.
You work both independently and together with colleagues to create a varied and attractive range of activities. An important part of the role is building relationships, creating safety in groups, and adapting activities to the participants' needs and conditions.
The working hours are full-time, with evening work two days per week and work on a Saturday or Sunday every other week.
The tasks include, among other things:
- Plan, launch, and lead group activities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment for the residents of Solna
- Adapt activities based on participants' needs and conditions
- Motivate and engage participants in participation
- Collaborate with colleagues and external parties
- Contribute to the development and content of the operation
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Relevant upper secondary or higher education in health promotion, social work, or care and social services
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Experience leading groups and conducting activities
- Good ability to meet people with different needs in a respectful and professional manner.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others.
- Experience working with low-affective handling (calm and de-escalating approach).
It is meritorious if you have:
- Education in pedagogy or similar knowledge of clarifying pedagogy and alternative communication (AKK)
- Experience collaborating with various actors, such as associations or internal operations.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You are engaged, responsible, and have a genuine interest in working with people. You are flexible and have the ability to create participation and engagement in groups.
