About the Workplace

Dalabergsskolan is a school with approximately 280 students in preschool class to grade 6, and around 40 staff members. The school is located in the northern parts of the city, with easy access to forests, lakes, and sports facilities. Most of our students come from multilingual backgrounds, a resource that contributes to us being a school that truly makes a difference. At Dalabergsskolan, we have high expectations of each other, and our focus is on achieving goals, as well as safety and a conducive learning environment. In the autumn of 2023, significant work was done to develop our shared value base, including rules of conduct and a consequence ladder, which has worked well in practice.

The team is the employees' primary affiliation, where planning, implementation, and analysis of teaching take place. Teaching is not a solitary job; at our school, we work together. Our after-school center complements the school in terms of versatility, holistic approach, and continuity in children's learning. We have a large and varied schoolyard that invites sports, games, and play. During every break, after-school educators are outside leading break activities together with all staff members wearing yellow reflective vests as break wardens. We work with the "Zero Vision Football Pitch" system, a systematic effort to reduce bullying and conflicts related to football. All students are pre-assigned to teams, have set playing times, a referee (after-school educator) for all matches, and clear consequences for breaking rules. Our safety group works on bullying, investigates incidents, holds conversations, and implements preventive measures in classes to strengthen students and give them tools to handle their school years. We have a stable student health team consisting of a counselor, school nurse, special needs educator, special teacher, deputy principal, and principal, all present at the school every day, working to ensure students feel well and learn – with the help of their important teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in our upcoming grade 4 together with 3 other qualified and experienced teachers.
  • Resource teacher in own classes and during other hours for grades 4–6.

Who We Are Looking For

We consider it significant that you possess the personal qualities and skills we assess are required to function well in the position, and we will place great emphasis on this:

  • You are passionate about creating high-quality teaching where every minute of students' time in school counts.
  • You build strong and professional relationships with students, guardians, and staff.
  • You are both structured and creative.

Qualifications

  • Licensed teacher (grades 4–6) with several years of teaching experience. Subject qualification is desirable in at least one, preferably several, core subjects.
  • You have good knowledge of language- and knowledge-developing teaching methods and have experience working with both newly arrived and multilingual students.
  • You are well-versed in the school's steering documents as well as school research, and are confident in driving the school forward together with other staff and the student health team.

Employment is subject to necessary decisions being made. For positions involving direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for operations within LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), care and nursing, healthcare, psychiatric care, and addiction care, a valid extract from the police criminal record register must be presented or submitted prior to employment. Please note that obtaining the extract may take time, so order it well in advance to avoid delaying the recruitment process.
